TWA from the *A* Looking for a Big Sis!
Hey lovely curlies!!!
A'brielle here, looking for a little guidance as I go along this journey to let the real me grow. I guess you could say I'm a newbie who puts on a good show pretending to be a vet (BC'd in August) but only because I'm proud of my 'fro! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I must admit though I have my tiny moments where my mind questions "where the HECK is your hair!??" & "you feel that? yeah, that's your neck shivering without it's built-in blanket!" or my old mane's ghost wails "why did you kill me? I was as long as those gorgeous locks on that girl, I thought you loved me!" (especially since it's winter & my parents have yet to retire in Florida). Most of the time it only lasts a few seconds and I push through it, but still as a lover of BIG hair it can be disheartening [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Plus I love experimenting (I think I was born with PJ tendencies, even with relaxed hair), but I don't want my hair to suffer due to my "adventurous" nature. So, if anybody would like to lend a hand or simply has any tips, I would love to know your thoughts/experiences!
Thanks,
Curlybison19

Hey curlybison19.....I'm assuming that you go to Howard (HU grad '02). When I was there, I went to see a lady named Jocelyn who does natural hair and gave me a lot of tips. If she is still there, the shop is right on Georgia Ave across from that elementary school in a yellow building. I can pm you her number if you want it. I like the fro!!

Mz. CiCi: Sure! I don't know know quite as much but I'd be happy to offer some of my opinions from the experience so far.
NEA: Thanks! HU class of '13! (yes, I'm practically a baby, lol). Anyways, I've been on a couple of adventures up and down GA Ave to look for natural salons, but the one I found seemed more targeted towards locks so I wasn't sure. Doubt I saw the one you're talking about since I didn't get as far as the elementary school. Her number would be great, thanks so much! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'll pm it to you. I hope you're enjoying your HU experience! There is none like it....(I'm very biased.)
