This is not for me!!!! Smile

My mom has been pressing her hair for 40+ years. She will not wear it in it's natural state but constantly complains that her hair is flat and will not hold curls. I told her I would try to help. I am going to see her this weekend and I would like to try to help out with some curls. However, I have no clue what to do because I never had a "flat hair" problem.

I thought about setting her hair (straight) in two strand twists.......pins curls.....washing and roller setting (but this lady has really long hair and I doubt I can handle all of that right now).....I just don't know

Any suggestions?

I don't have a problem with flat hair either. Why not try a flat braid out? That wouldn't take too much time. A roller set with smaller rods will add volume as well. The only downside to roller setting LONG hair is the TIME it will take for you to do it.

Let us know what you decide and post pics of the results.

You are talking about cornrows right?
That is an option, I am concerned about the hold. When I was wearing my hair straight I could not use any water-based products on my hair so I also have to figure out a product that will hold the set. I know if I braid it without anything on it, the outcome will be straight hair.
