Re: Itchy Scalp!
I oil my scalp still. I use a color applicator bottle with some oils in it. After I wash and condition my hair and am ready to style, I section off some hair that is detangled already and take the bottle and put a few drops(not a lot per section) at the top of the section. I then take my fingers and sort of move it all around over my scalp in that section ( same way I shampoo my scalp sort of). Then each section I do the same thing and by the time I'm done my scalp is moisturized and not too oily because I use like 1-2 drops per section depending on the size of the section.I hope that makes sense.
I have to remember the girl's name on youtube I got the idea from or maybe someone else will.

Re: Itchy Scalp!
I have not greased my scalp in years. My scalp was itchy last week, so I did a bentonite clay hair mask to really remove all product from my hair and scalp.
Laleepop14, that method sounds good I will have to try it out!

I also oil my scalp and give myself a scalp massage while doing it. I use my Wild Growth oil, but really need to buy some applicator bottles for my own oil mixes and to dilute and apply shampoo.
For some bizarre reason, my hair itches for the first day or two after washing, then again when it needs washing with a respite period inbetween. I don't use that many products, but maybe my hair still needs to be clarified or something.

YES!!! I absolutely GREASE my scalp weekly when needed with KeraCare Dry & Ichty. I works for me.
Re: Itchy Scalp!
@Jo somebody. My scalp does the same thing. Itches like crazy the first couple of days, rests for a bit and then flares up. I think I might be using too hot water in my shower. But I do love a hot shower. I read on here somewhere that cool water is better for skin, so I might have to start lowering the temp of my showers. I have dry skin too.
Hmmm, maybe I'll be able to go longer inbetween washes if I cool my water? Does anybody use cool water to wash their hair instead of hot (hot, hot)? Did you use hot before and have you noticed a difference?

@madeaj, I start with a fairly hot shower; just before exiting I turn the water gradually to cool (as cool as I can stand) for my hair only
the cool/cold water helps close your hair cuticle

My scalp itches after I wash it for a few days. Too dry.
My scalp itches if I oil or grease it. Too oily.
My scalp itches if I do nothing to do.
My scalp itches if I wait too long between shampoos/cowashes.
My scalp itches if I was TOO much.
My scalp is a pain in the (ahem).
I haven't found the magic bullet, or the right amount of time between washes, or whether I should grease/oil it or not. URGH!

Lol!!! I've just come to a realisation though, as I sit here fresh from a co-wash (yes, I'm nekkid! ), my hair is itchy straight after a shampoo, but not after a co-wash. Hmm...

Re: Itchy Scalp!
My scalp itches a lot also even after I wash and condition. I tried using coconut oil to grease the scalp just last night but I woke up with my scalp still itching (I guess my scalp doesn't like the coconut oil). I read some where that using jojoba oil helps itchy dry scalp.

Re: Itchy Scalp!
I have the same problem, however, my scalp only itches in one spot (what's up with that). I scratch my head so much and hard in that spot that it creates what I think is a scab. I have my daughter look at my scalp and she say's she doesn't see a scab in my head, but I can swear I feel one. If I don't get help for this soon I'm going to scream. The itching is crazy.
