Re: Makeup - Have You Checked for e.l.f. in Your Target?
Fancy Face gave a review of Rock & Republic eye shadows. They are now on sale for $14 and with the code ROCKCOSMETICS, they are $7. I am ready to get a few.

I have the R&R pressed powder & tinted illuminizer. I really like how smooth they are. The colors are really light in the pan but they do not make me look ashy. I am thinking of getting a couple of their blushes. Not sure if code works on other cosmetics but worth a try.
Accidental Beauty did a review of the pressed powder and perhaps the blush too.

@Brandii: I have the BH 88 palette #2. It's in my pro kit so I don't really use it on myself. I do love how highly pigmented the colors are, great impact in photos.
@Nubie: Ummm really you're planning on coming to SF and you weren't gonna tell me?! Rudeness! You lemme know when you're in town and we'll meet up, have lunch, something!
@Chrs: Love the purple and bronze eye! I see you!

Re: Makeup - Have You Checked for e.l.f. in Your Target?
So I thought would pop in and show y'all something. Of all days for me to get my make-up right...today would be the day!!! I have NO where to go!!!!

So I'm learning a lot about make-up. To create this look I took my time.
I used my Maybelline Brown Eye Liner to do my brows. Now my Anastasia Brown pencil is nice, but I seem to be able to do better with ole reliable Maybelline!!
But the first thing I've learned to do is wash my face with cold water to help close my pores. I have very large pores and this step seem to help!!
I didn't use foundation today, but I used my MAC Deep Dark Blot Powder a little blush and highlighter. I did use a little concealer (Make-up Today) and of course my eye shadow palette from Coastal Scents and my MAC Ricepaper eye shadow, and my Falisie!!!
So I guess I really need to take my time when putting on my make-up; I guess there isn't anything wrong with my brushes!!!
Oh....I finally found the Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel!!! YAY!!!

@KNH, you are beautiful lady. The makeup only enhances your beauty. Your hair is ON POINT. It looks so pretty, so pretty.
Thanks for the love!
I need to organize my makeup. The storage item I have is too deep for my makeup. It is a three drawer rolling system I purchased at Target. I will invest in some smaller ones so I can store items separately. I think the deeper drawers make me think I do not have enough, LOL.
I am always trying to find my eyeliners. It is starting to get real frustrating so it is time to make a change.
I purchased some shadows, a pressed powder & blush from Rock & Republic. I should have it by Monday. I will share them with you. I used both pressed powders today. Y'all they feel so smooth it is crazy.
I discovered another way to help even out my red and dark spots. I used a yellow corrector stick and concealer. I set it with my R&R powders. They are definitely going to be my go to powders. Be aware that the packaging is HEAVY.

Chrs- I found out about the yellow concealer too!! Great tip, isn't it? Petrilude has shown me so much!
I have to conceal ALOT of scarring on my eyes and nose, from my accident.

Re: Makeup - Have You Checked for e.l.f. in Your Target?
My question is similar to Nubie's in reference to concealer: Does Yellow concealor cover dark spots? Where do buy yellow concealer and which brand do you use because I've only used the skintone ones?

I need you guys that wear eyeshadow confidently to get in my head and tell me I am not too dark! I know that is why I struggle with packing the color on! But I did a little better today I think..

Concealer!!!
Here is some info on using different color concealers and primers. I got it from the Makeup For Ever website (makeupforever.com). I tried to insert it but it didn't work. Check the link
Color Correction
HTH!!!
update: That is the wrong vid, tho it does give some good tips on using primer. I will hunt down the correct vid a post it.
update 2: I couldn't find the video but here is a general guideline
Lavender brightens dull or sallow skin (too much yellow, sick, jaundice)
Green reduces redness
Apricot evens out skin tones and discoloration on fair skin with peach or pink under tones
Orange for deeper skin tones orange can help conceal blue toned blemishes or discoloration
I personally use bronzer or golden highlighter for my concealer. Something with a bit of shimmer (NARS Laguna is my go to right now) to help reflect light away away from imperfections is good toon.

Re: Makeup - Have You Checked for e.l.f. in Your Target?
Sweet - you are not too dark! We are about the same skintone and you've seen me wear pink, blue, purple, etc. eyeshadow. You can wear any color you feel confident enough to wear. If you think the color is too light you can always darken it with a dark colored base underneath or blend with a darker color.
Re: Makeup - Have You Checked for e.l.f. in Your Target?
I agree Sweet- you are definitely NOT too dark to to wear those colors. I'm in the same color family I think and I wear greens, blues, whatever I want. I think you did a great job AND you could have packed on a little more! Get it girl!
Re: Makeup - Have You Checked for e.l.f. in Your Target?
I got my concealer from Ben Nye and another one from Walmart. I actually like the walmart concealer better. I have yellowish/red undertones and Petrilude was saying something about concealers. I figured he knew what he was talking about, since he is concealing an ADAM'S APPLE - lol
Sweet- you are not too dark!! My thing is trying to cover these scars and not picking something too dark, in doing so. I need to add color, as well!!

Re: Makeup - Have You Checked for e.l.f. in Your Target?
sweeeet u need to stop it cuz u see these pretty brown girls round here rockin bright bold colors...NO EXCUSES!! although i do like how subtle ur color is...still...if knh can rock some pink friday on her soup coolers u can pack on the shadow!!
umm...PS u are not in their same color group and dnt blame it on the flash of the camera!
ok thanx femme...so basically i'd use the green to cover or hide my pimples n stuff??? and oooh we on the same page cuz i been eyeballin that NARS laguna but i wasnt quite sure. i seen it in the set; the highlightin and bronzin duo set (sephora $40) but i wasnt sure how to use bronzer which brings me to ANOTHER QUESTION:
can u use bronzer in the winter time and how do u use it? like where do u apply it?

@Nubie you can use bronzer year round, all it does is warm up your skin tone. I got the Laguna in the NARS set (Orgasm/Laguna duo) and I love. I sweep it under my eyes using a fan brush and also from the top of my orbital bone to the top of my eyebrow....think of making half moons around your temples..does that make sense? I'll also use it as a brow highlight or mixed with a bit of foundation if I was give 'Bronzed Goddess'.
You would use green to cover any really red blemishes. What I like to do is mix colored concealer with the foundation that I'm going to use and then dot on the blemish with my finger. That way you don't have a green dot where the red dot used to be, lol. But you may want to put on your foundation first. Depending on how much coverage it has you may not need concealer AND foundation.
