I HENNA'D!!!!!

So today I henna'd my hair for the first time. It was an ALLLLL day thing but it was ok. I washed last night ( I wanted to apply the henna last night but got home too late from hangin with a friend)and applied the henna this morning (the henna did it's thing in the fridge all night).

I mixed the henna with the cinnamon and cloves it came with (boiled/simmered them in some lemon juice), ....well I poured the cin/cloves liquid in the henna after straining. I also added some honey, paprika and pumpkin spice in hopes of the color coming out better. Added enough water to make it a yogurt consistency. My daughter noticed the color cuz she asked if I dyed my hair! Smile

So I waited and waited....and waited some more. About 6 hours this stuff sat in my hair. Then FINALLY I rinsed it out. And I am so glad I saw someone's youtube video about filling the bathtub with water. I dunked my head in the water to loosen the henna up some and MAN that water turned to what looked like mud, almost instantly!!! And that henna just kept on coming out. (oh and I rinsed it with some V05 conditioner). So anyway I rinsed til the water was somewhat clear and then applied my LeKair Cholesterol w/shea conditioner. To that I added some EVOO/Tea Tree/Sweet Almond Oil mix that I made last week, and some honey. I let that sit I guess for about 2 hours. This time I got in the shower and rinsed again. More henna came out but it finally all came out, water clear.

So THEN greased/oiled my scalp with the Grow My Hair butter from buttersnbars. I liked that because it has a nice minty tingle!!! Smile

I applied my final application of MORE conditioner. This time I used Cantu Shea Leave-in. I did several 2-strand twists with the Cantu and then sealed it all with Jojoba Oil. My first time using that stuff too!!!

SO!!! So far so good. My hair feels good. It seems shinier. And I do have some highlights. The pics are not that great because the lighting isn't the best and the walls are yellow so....LOL

After the deep conditioning shower rinse...all henna is out...

Can you see the tint???? Smile

So far so good. We'll see if the color comes out more over the next few days!!!

Thanks Ladies!!! I have yet to see the true results though cuz my hair was wet in those pics and they've been twisted since. I have no idea when I'll take the twists down either!! I have nowhere to go anytime soon!! LOL sad, huh?? LOL OH!!! yes I do.....got a friend's wedding Saturday!!! That's perfect. Very Happy

Thanks LaToya. I just rinsed my hair again....I THOUGHT the henna was all out but as I was putting on my leave in the excess was a light tanish color!!! LOL Oh well. I have read other peoples' statements that it didn't rinse all out the 1st time.
Can't wait to see what my hair looks like with the color when I take the twists out and wear it all out!!! Very Happy

Hi Misskris! I haven't visited your page before but you mentioned henna so I came on in. Hope you don't mind that I sat down for a minute. LOL! Anyway, your henna looks great. I did the same over the weekend but I purchased a henna that supposedly had a red tint to it. I have grays and I wanted to cover them! I actually added some hibiscus to mine. Next time I think I'll just use half green tea, and half hibiscus to see if I get more red out of it. My grays are now a nice coppery color. I like it a lot but would really like some more color deposit.

So anyway, your looks great. Did you achieve the color you wanted? Where did you get your henna? From butters and bars?
