cetearyl alcohol

Is cetearyl alcohol bad for transitioning/natural hair? I have heard and read that alcohol is a "no, no" for natural hair, however, many products have cetearyl alcohol in it. Can someone please point me to resources that list the ingredients that I should avoid for my transitioning/natural 4a or 4b hair?

Check out livecurlylivefree.com (Curly Basics). She provides a list of ingredients to avoid and which ones to look for when selecting products. I think it is a great resource.
