Makeup - Rock & Republic Sale $7 for $28 Eyeshadows!!!

I went to Target the other day to get some Sheamoisture Shampoo (first time using it) and was going to run over to MAC to get some mascara and thought well since I am out this is the perfect opportunity to buy some of those E.L.F. products jcurl been raving over and they only $1 - $3 so i walked out of there with a concealer brush ($1), Mascara ($3), Liquid Eyeliner ($1). I hope they work out great. I am gonna put together a $10 look with all cheapie products.

And regarding a look in less than 10 minutes. Luckily I have a trio pallette by MAC called love to love that has all three colors that i use normally for my natural look, then i throw on eyeliner on my eyelids only and concealer around my eyes and throw a lip moisturizer on my lips that is usually clear or a goldish tint.

ooooh yall are so dangerous and KC u are WRONG for puttin that sephora sale on blast when i get an email from them i try to bypass em! **sigh**

well i did get my order from beauty.com n my UD 24/7 stash eyeliner set arrived its better than i expected (not to mention super fast shipping; i ordered it Tues morning n got it Thurs) so i will be playin around in those. the pencils are mini n come wit a full size pencil in black (which gets the most use of course)...im gonna post pics in a minute...

my oil is a combo and gets really dry in the winter, like nali; i also get pimples on my forehead, nose n my upper lip (like rihanna ) and lately on my chin (im sure its from not cleaning these phones at work before i use em). im tryin to get a good reggie goin wit my face but i always slack off.

to moisturize; i use Aveeno positively radiant after the cleanser of the same at least twice a week (especially if i washed off makeup) but with the winter time coming i swear by silky hair butter (subtle essence) but i use it for my face in the morning n before bed. i've been using black soap to cleanse my face too n it leaves me dry so moisturizing afterwards is a MUST!! i do however, have the tea tree mud mask (from the body shop) i use once a week n even after i rinse it my skin is still soft n smooth n doesnt leave me dry....but i still put my butter on!

@npmo-loooove the avi n yes i cant wait to see the $10 look too! shooot the holidays comin so we need to shave n trim when needed.

@chrs-im looking forward to purchasing the blush palette from ebay to complete my makeup stash for a while. i think after that im gonna chill cuz i have plenty of palettes, lip liners, glosses, eyeliners, brushes n etc to keep me busy!

this pic does it no justice but if or when u see the movie, u can see its like a purple-ish kinda smokey eye n i love how she paired it wit the red lip! i couldnt even pay attention to what came out of her mouth cuz i was studying her eyes

Sooooo, I been stalking this for a day or two....(don't judge) and I have a question for NubieNatty and any others that may be afraid of the eyeliner pencil: do y'all put the tip of the pencil to a flame? Ok so when I sharpen my eyeliner pencils I always take a lighter to the tip before application. This melts it down so that 1. I don't have a pointy tip coming towards my eye. 2. It compacts the tip of the lead so that it doesn't fall apart easily (specifically in your eye). My first couple experiences with eyeliners left huge clumps of lead in my eye (eek!) So I was SO against eyeliner, until I learned this trick. It helped TONS. Plus it goes on softer so no ubrupt poking to my waterline, its pretty gentle because its rounder. And its able to leave a thicker eyeline (which I prefer) but it has the versatility to leave a really thin line. I'm no guru, but I live for eyeliner! It makes such a difference!

@derby...pencil to flame i've never tried that but with the UD 24/7 gliders, there actually so smooth that even after i sharpen, i slant the pencil to apply n its not pointy enuff to scare me. hooooowever, i will try this trick with my hard n pointer ones that arent as smooth. i havent quite conquered getting it precisely on the water line, im tryin to build up to that part.

thanx for the tip, i instantly thought of tryin it on the OTHER UD eyeliners i got from the hautelook sale cuz there harder

@DerbyDiva - Welcome to the makeup thread! I've never heard of the pencil to the flame trick but I do agree with Nubie about the urban decay liners, they are really soft. I prefer to use the cream or gel liners with a brush since its easier to apply and I don't have to worry about jabbing myself in the eye.

You can use an angled or a flat brush like these below: I usually get the angled and flat art brushes in Michaels which are around two or three dollars. Also when you buy the cream and gel liners they will also come with a brush.

sooo my look for yesterday; i had to do a quick look cuz im tryin to get this "under 10 min" look down packed. did i accomplish that...well i was at work n kept gettin interrupted

my ingredients:
concealer (also used as eye primer)
brow pencil
ud eye liner pencil
nars blush
2 UD shadows from palette (actually a hint of a 3rd in my corner eye)

@Nubie gawgess!! those colors are so complimentary to your skin tone and the hair color! everything just pops! and yes for those pencils you may have that are harder tips the flame to the tip is a must! i get dang near in my eye on the lower lid using this! and i barely even blink! its super fast.

as for eyeliner I usually use a liquid eyeliner for the top lid and the pencil for the water lines.

revlon color stay with the fine tip - the brush is really soft and really easy for beginners. I purchased the E.L.F liquid liner for a $1 and I like it but I realized it is in Coffee instead of the normal black i purchase and i actually like it.

I have a M.A.C Carbon pencil for an eye pencil I usually don't have the jitters when applying it but I find it to be really soft.

I have never tried the flame trick but I do put my liners in the freezer for about a half hour so that they will not break when I sharpen them.

On another note, I just tried MakeUp Forever's HD Finishing Powder and it is the most amazing setting powder that have ever used. It really gave me an airbrushed finish! I like this one over my mineral veil.

@npmoore04...I like the look! I like gel liners for my top lid, when I do the liquid it ends up everywhere. I guess I just need more practice.
