Evangelizing
Hello CN Community! This is my first entry for the BnB Contest. Perhaps I should've started on a Monday, but who knows what the week will bring.
So, on the topic of evangelizing and trying (in vain) to recruit more kinkies, curlies and coilies...I was chatting with a relaxed, short-haired friend of mine and she was complaining about how her hair looks like wet fowl after working out. First of all, I was thrilled that this sister didn't let her hair stop her from working out BUT I suggested that she consider going natural in order to make it easier to workout and not worry about sweating out her hair.
WELL she proceeded to tell me that it wouldn't work for her because her hair doesn't get "cute and curly when it's wet". It made me kinda sad that she felt that way. It's easy to think that someone else has it easier because of their texture, but why let that limit you? We all have so many different and amazing textures. I wish that everyone could give natural hair a try and see how much they love their hair without all the chemicals.
Below is a pic of my hair (and my kids) almost one year after my big chop. This is a twist-out and it lasted for about 3 days! I'll try to include one pic with each post. This is fun!

Re: Evangelizing
Beautiful family, hair and twist out. Your definition is awesome. What products were used?
Yes, it's unfortunate how people feel about their natural texture. Perhaps in time, she and many others will accept and love their hair.
