I DID IT!!!!!
So today as I was leaving a class & I saw someone with the most gorgeous curly fro. I asked her a couple questions and her final words were " When it comes to the big chop you just gotta do it"....I have known for about 2 weeks that i just needed to work up the nerves and do it but that's a big step. I got home today and told my mom and immediately got on the phone and asked my hairstylist if I could come in. I can't lie after she cut and washed it I was on the verge of tears. She really worked it though. I still wanted to cry when I got home just from the shock. BUT my husband, mom, and 8 yr old daughter have done nothing but build me up all night. I don't think I have ever had this many comments from them....EVER. Its growing on me, I am ready to go out and get some accesories to doll it up. Only thing I am worried about is that I am in the military and looking girly with this little hair, in uniform is gonna be tough. Thanks to everybody for all the support....now I am so ready to start getting to know my hair. SO ladies bring on all the tips!!!!!!

Re: I DID IT!!!!!
So not ass brave as I thought I was...yep I punked out and wore my wig to work. I am just trying to get use to it. I do have a lot questions for anyone willing to help. My hair has some very distinct corkscrew coils all over. close up it looks amazing. Problem is my hair soaks u everything I put on it, which is something I already knew. Just wondering if this is normal just after a BC? I can load down whatever moisturizer on my hair and it’s pretty much gone in a matter of hours. Please ladies I need all the protein, moisturizing, and styling advice I can get. Also has anyone heard any reviews on the design essential natural line.
Re: I DID IT!!!!!
When I bc'ed, it took me a couple of weeks for my hair to feel moisturized again. One thing that helped was doing the baggy method over night (sleep with condish and a plastic cap). Another thing is that whenever my hair felt dry, I would spritz it with Sheamoisture's coconut hibiscus mist which I loved but @ 10/ bottle I had to give that up. Now I have a spray bottle with distilled water, my leave in and evoo which works just as well.

Re: I DID IT!!!!!
When I BC'd, it took me about a month to get the moisture right. The best advice I got was to add EVOO when I cowashed. I would wet my hair, apply EVOO, then apply my conditioner on top of it. It made a BIG difference after only doing it about a week.
I would also suggest making a homemade spritz. Water, conditioner and oil would be a good start. When your hair feels dry during the day, use it.
I've didnt know about baggying in my TWA days but I heard it yields great results.
I hope this helps.

Lynnieluv & freckledmom4 made my own bottle of spray and it's working great so far......I wore my TWA out for the first time!! Also i used the new Giovanni shampoo on my daughters hair last night and then condish with sheabutter....AMAZING!!! Her hair is so soft and pretty , I loved it.
Re: I DID IT!!!!!
Congrats on wearing your TWA out for the first time! A little daunting at first, but I've been doing it a couple weeks, and I don't even think about it anymore! It's JUST my hair!
