I BC'd this morning (like, 30 min ago)....just could not deal with the two textures anymore. Need some advice on what to do now for a wash-n-go....I know I need to apply a good leave-in. I have my mix that I used during transitioning (consists of HHHE, EVOO and water)....should I just use that? I also have some Giovanni Direct Leave-In (which I love). Also, my hair is long enough for a short twistout...what can I do to achieve those too?

BTW, I'm a bit nervous because I have to go to work tomorrow and don't want to look a hot mess...LOL

When i first BC'd (after 3 months of transitioning) i did not do wash and go's.
I would wash my hair on sunday and add a leave-in and let it air dry.
On monday, i only added some water and a creamy moisturizer (For me it was Quemets Biologics' heavy cream).
For my 4c hair, wash and go's only makes it feel 10 times dryer.
I'm one year in and i still hate them...lol.

Welcome to the family and Good luck on your journey!!!!!

I suggest that you add a little gel, setting lotion or foam for hold. I also love Giovanni Direct Leave In.

Congratulations and Good Luck. I am going to BC on Wednesday.

Part of it is trial and error. When I first big chopped, I tried a whole bunch of different things, and I'm only now 6/7 months later beginning to figure out a routine that works for me. I'd suggest you start by looking at ingredients and figuring out what ingredients your hair likes and going from there. For e.g. my hair does not tolerate glycerin, so I don't use products with those.
You could try what you used during your transition and see if it still works for you, and if it doesn't try something else. Good luck to you! It gets easier as time goes by

Thanks so much for the info, ladies. Right now I have some HEHH w/honey in my hair with a plastic cap on. Once I wash it out, I think I'm going to add to EVCO, a leave-in and some ecostyler and see what happens. Wish me luck! Smile
