I did it! Empty I did it!

Post by CurlyNMixed 14th September 2010, 6:22 pm

I posted this in the transitioning forum, as well. I cut off all of my relaxed hair. I'm loving it. I did it myself so I'm ALMOST sure it's not all even, but the curls help it to blend, so I'm going to just leave it. The area in the back that was worried about it pretty much covered by my hair, but if it bothers me, I'll just cover it with a hairband.

Congratulations! You made a very brave move that will be so fulfilling in the end. I had the same problem you have with missing hair in the back and the worst thing you can do is to keep too much pressure from the headband to cover it up. It'll stunt your growth. I just pulled some of my curls down with my fingers and created my own hairline, lol. Well, 2 months later, using essential oils has helped to fill that missing spot.

@Fleur - I'm using castor oil on that area right now. What EOs are you using?

CurlyNMixed, I mix a tbsp. of almond, grapeseed, jojoba, evoo, 1 egg and use it as a deep conditioner once a week in the bald area. I use the rest on my hair if I just want extra luster. I massage the evoo on the missing area every night (or use your castor oil). I was surprised how fast it grew back because when it was relaxed, it didn't grow back at all because my scarf kept too much pressure on that spot.

Btw, your hair is gorgeous!!
