Preserving a Rollerset Empty Preserving a Rollerset

Post by Curly Film Chick 9th September 2010, 3:04 pm

Hey ladies,

So I used curlformers last weekend and they came out really nice! But then I didn't know how to sleep with them. I had heard using a scarf wouldnt work, so I tried a bonnet. But I woke up and my curls were somewhat "smooshed" and a bit matted. Does anyone have any suggestions? I want to do another rollerset this weekend!

Thanks in advance!

PS you can see my results as well as my trail and error by looking at my blog here: http://yourafricaisshowing.blogspot.com/2010/09/my-roller-set-attempts.html

I gathered my hair in a loose ponytail from what I remember. My style lasted about four days. This included days I exercised.

I used castor oil to help seal out moisture. I think this helped.

Try pincurling your curls up at night and placing a bonnet over it. In the morning remove the pins and fluff your hair.

How would you pincurl a set (spiral curls) like hers? Would you take a section, twist it around then proceed to pincurl?

I thought about doing that, but was hesitant because of the spiral curls like chrs mentioned.
