I NEED SERIOUS HELP!! I CANNOT NOT FIND ANY PRODUCTS THAT WORK IN HELPING ME STYLE MY HAIR!!
MAINLY WHAT I WANT TO DO IS TO DEFINE MY CURLS. MY HAIR HAS NOT REALLY GROWN IN THE LAST MONTH AND AND HALF IT'S 1 1/2 TO TWO INCHES LONG. I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO RELAXING MY HAIR BUT I'M WONDERING WHAT OTHER CHOICE DO I HAVE. ALSO A LOT OF PRODUCTS I SEE LISTED I CAN'T FIND AT WALMART OR TARGET. THERE IS A TRADER JOE'S AND WHOLE FOODS NEARBY BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN THERE YET TO LOOK AT THEIR HAIR CARE PRODUCTS BUT I WILL BE MAKING TRIPS TO BOTH STORES SOMETIME THIS WEEK. ANYONE KNOW OF ANY PRODUCTS THAT WILL KEEP MOISTURE IN MY HAIR AND DEFINE MY CURLS?
DOES ANYONE LIKE PANTENE WOMEN OF COLOR POO OR CONDITIONER?
DOES ANYONE LIKE OR USE DR. MIRACLES PRODUCTS OR IS IT BAD FOR NATURAL HAIR.

Try some Kinky Curly Curling Custard, found at Whole Foods for curl definition. Make sure you use some type of moisturizer, too because the KCCC can leave your hair a little crunchy.

I too suggest Kinky Curly Curling Custard and the Kinky Curly Knot Today leave-in conditioner. The leave-in works so well on my hair, I leave it in on its own at times. You only need a dime size of custard since you hair is shorter and that should be enough to define your curls and keep your hair moisturized. If you use too much, it will make your hair hard and take a while to dry.

If you prefer Walmart, you can try Paul Mitchell's Roundtrip to define your curls. Still use a leave in conditioner, try the roundtrip and to redefine curls in the morning, just spritz lightly with water.

HTH!

I use eco styler to define my curls..I have a twa too..I either use Giovanni direct leave in or shea moisture conditioner as my leave in and they apply some eco styler and always have a well defined twa..

I am in the same boat, except I am SICK of wash and go's. I don't really use a heat on my hair so my twists are still too short for me to wear them out. Sooooo frustrated! But to define my curls (coils) I use Suave coconut conditioner water and coconut oil. Sometimes a leave in conditioner as well.

We are here to help you avoid the calling of the "creamy crack"....fight the urge my sistah! If you can determine your hair type (not curl pattern), then you may be able to select product that can help for your hair. My hair is very fine and overly porous, which requires extra protein rather than lots of moisturizer. Before I realized this, I overdid it with moisturizers which resulted in no curl, weighed down, and dry hair.

Check out livecurlylivefree.com to get details on your hair texture, porosity, etc, as well as ingredients to use or avoid based on your hair type.

Hopefully this helps!!!

Mel

P.S- I did copy and paste this from another post that I wrote to someone going through the same thing Smile

Hi Chana-Imani,

Have you tried coils or coil-outs? That's pretty easy on shorter hair, and leaves a pretty, soft curl. Make sure you use some type of curling creme to prevent frizz. When my hair was shorter, I did them using Ms. Jessie's curly meringue and they came out lovely.

Good luck,
Barbara
