Fashion anyone?
Hey ladies and err gents?
My latest obsession (outside of hair) has become clothes, shoes, accessories etc. I'm always looking for fashion inspiration. How are you all inspired by fashion? What are your favourite trends right now? What trends bandwagon's will you refuse to jump on and what trend bandwagons did you swear up and down you would never jump on but ended up succumbing to? Where are your favourite places to shop and what is the one item of clothing you could wear all day every day?
I'm from Toronto Canada so below is currently one of my fave fashion blogs. And I'm not just saying this b/c the blogger is my very own cousin I swear! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Here are some more inspiring blogs that I frequent.

This one is for the fuller figured ladies and even though I'm not full figured I LOVE her fashion sense and how she puts things together. Fashion inspiration knows no size!

Re: Fashion anyone?
I am obsessed with shoes and earrings. For some reason clothes never really appealed to me. But if I can get a fly pair of shoes and a unique pair of earrings, I am good to go.
Actually, I think fly earrings are a necessity for any natural.

Re: Fashion anyone?
ITA tiashauntee. Fly earrangs are a must! I like big earrings myself. I think b/c I have a fuller face and big hair everything has to be big LOL! Feather style earrings have been catching my eye for a few months now, and I also love the threaded earrings. They almost look like dream catchers in the shape of a teardrop. I have like 3 pairs in various colour pallets I love them so much. lol
I think once you have great accessories you don't need to necessarily invest in as much clothing b/c you can really change up an outfit just by accessorizing. I'm learning that as my sense of style grows.

I was recently inspired by a sista that I ran across on myspace. Since I've begun crocheting she is definitely an inspiration. With this cold weather I wanted to make myself some tams and hers are so on point but on top of that she makes earrings as well. I will be making a purchase as soon as possible.

I love clothes, shoes, make-up, accessories..the whole nine. I don't really look at the trends though. I look for things that accentuate the positive and cover the negative. It's my rule of thumb. but for this to be successful you must have a correct mental image of your body...Now adays a lot of people are decieved by themselves...anyway i won't get into that but I love fashion.....

I discovered crocheting/knitting last year!! Everyone got a scarf as a gift. I bought the knifty knitter and with it I can make a scarf in less than a day. I want to try to crochet a skirt and a pair of earring next. I tried a hat but I didn't like the final outcome. The good thing about knifty knitter is that if you don't like what you have, just pull the string and you can start all over.
Re: Fashion anyone?
I love clothes, shoes, and bags...I'm not much for costume jewelry/accessories.
This winter I've spent too much money on skinny jeans, leggings, boots, long sleeve Ts, button downs, and sweater dresses. I'm not a 'name brand' gal and frequent Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, H&M, Gap, Banana Republic, Target, and Pac Sun (great jeans!).
A trend I won't jump on--high waist jeans...i have no hips and fear that they will remind me of the horrible tapered jeans I was made to wear as a child. But then again, I told friends 3 years ago that I wouldn't be caught dead in skinny jeans! Now, that's all I own

I *heart* H&M! There's one in STL, but not one in Raleigh. The closest H&M to me is in Richmond, VA Unfortunately, they don't offer online shopping, so I've been thinking of taking a road trip up there just to get some deals...they've got great prices!
Re: Fashion anyone?
Hey gammainme,
I'm in Clermont, where did they open an H&M Store? I used to go to the one in NY all the time.

Yeah, can't do bright coloured leggings either but sometimes I see them on other folks and think they look fly.

No problem
Co-signing on H&M. That is hands down my favourite store! Most of what I own comes from there. They just have a good variety of everything that appeals to my tastes.
I swore I would never do skinny jeans or leggings and I role HARD in them now. LOL! I thought only super skinny girls could wear skinny jeans but after I saw a few curvier ladies rock them and look amazing doing so I got on board. The key to skinny jeans is fit. Once I found a good fit for my body type I really got into wearing them.

I am a die-hard Forever21 consumer! My wardrobe is transforming into mostly Forever21, although Marshall's & TJ Maxx house my equally favorite brand--The Willie Smith Collection. Earrings, hair accesories, a well-put together outfit, a funky hairdo, and a pretty smile knocks 'em dead everytime!

Re: Fashion anyone?
Beautifully Human, that's funny. I thought skinny jeans were off limits for skinny girls..despite the name 'skinny'. I've always been self-conscious about my petite stature and still don't wear many dresses or skirts to this day. You'll never catch me in shorts, lol.
I remember being teased when I was a little girl about having chicken legs, and once, in a department store, at the age of 9 (the first time leggings were popular, lol), I tried on a pair of stirrups and my dad jokingly asked 'what you gonna put in 'em'?! I about hit the floor! He still brings that up to this day, and reminds me about the week long cold shoulder I gave him.
Goes to show you little stupid things from your past experiences really stick with you. Sorry to ramble...bottom line is that it's funny how I thought only curvy girls could wear them, and you thought the opposite. Grass is always greener

Re: Fashion anyone?
I'm a shopaholic too, sadly. Whenever I'm bored, sad, or 'my hair looks too good to be at the crib', I feel compelled to leave the house and spend money, lol. Happened yesterday, and the day before that...probably the day before that too! It's wrong, but it feels soooo right.
To keep hubby off my back, I buy him things too He gets so distracted with his new stuff that he doesn't see me sneaking pass with my bags! For every 3 things I buy myself, I buy him 1...haha
