flat twists

Ok this is driving me crazy. I pretty much know how to flat twists. My problem is that when i try to do it on both sides of my head on the right side if go one way and on the left the other. What i end up with are twist going in the opposite direction like forward and backward. THis only happens if I am trying to do them on the sides going straight back is not a problem. I cannot get my hands to go the same way on the side. Does anyone else have this problem??? Any suggestions

And dont look in the mirror while doing it, I find this always confuses me. lol
