Hey Lady! Your nails and hair were really cute for the 4th. Quick question- why did you decide to go CG?? I'm a huge fan of HETT and the Aussie Moist but I put them down a few months ago and have been missing them ever since.

I originally started my journey CG until I started being influenced by hair board members and became a product junkie lol. I bought every conditioner, butter, shampoo, etc like a maniac. I have recently come to realize that I don't really need all that stuff though. And I think embracing products without cones or sulfates can't hurt my hair so why not? Now I don't think that's necessarily true for everyone and I still love HETT and Aussie but I'm just gonna not use em for a while and see if I notice a positive improvement. And if not I may go back to them in the future.

What's up ladies?! This week has been brutal! It's been so hot that I haven't felt like doing anything to my hair lol. Today I co-washed it though cause it had been 3 days since I rinsed it or anything and it was getting icky lmao. I put it in a puff and did a little pompadour in the front.





Still don't know what to do about my edges. Guess I'm just gonna keep on massaging with oil every other night. Sigh. Hope everyone had a great week and stayed as cool as possible.

hey ladies! thanks for the lovely comments! nattyblog you're right i love my twists too haha. I need to stop being lazy and do them again. i'm currently sitting here with indigo in my hair after a henna treatment. but i have to go to work at 3 so i won't be able to twist today but wednesday is my day off so I think i'll twist it up then.

my one year nappiversary is on Saturday. Think I'll get me a nice bottle of bubbly to celebrate after I get out of work lol. I don't really have anything else to update... lol. Hope you're all doing well!

aww thanks ladies for all the words of encouragement! I really appreciate it. I'm celebrating my nappiversary tomorrow since I have to work on Sat. I'm making myself a feast of chicken, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes lol... with a brownie sundae for dessert hehehe. i know i'm a fatty. but whatever haha. it's my first day off in 7 days! i earned it lmao.

CurlsGalore I've never done a henna gloss and I don't really know what it is but here's my personal henna mix that i've been using since Jan:

100 grams of Mashhoor henna
1/4 cup of ground coffee
2 cups of chamomile tea made with filtered water(no green tea in apt)
2 tbs of honey
3 squirts of lemon juice
2 tsp of ground ginger root(for smell)

Up until this last henna I would never use my entire mix and usually had to freeze the remainder but now my hair's long enough that I used the entire pack with no leftovers.. actually i almost ran out of mix lol. HTH.

so I'm part of a twist challenge on another forum and I've clearly not been doing that lol. So today i was determined lmao. I washed and conditioned my hair. Then did a Yes to Carrots Mud Mask treatment... My hair was soooo soft when I rinsed it out. Then applied my leave-in and got to twisting. Then it hit me.. I should trim my hair.. So I did! First time in 7 months. I think Harriet is very pleased with me today:

i looooooooove YTC mask and would definitely keep it in my top 3 dc's but im so scared of the expiration date when i used it on my twa days. now that my hairs longer i dnt think i'd have to worry bout that cuz i could get a good 3 maaaybe 4 uses out of it and for $13 that aint bad.
