I was recently watching one of my favorite videos on YouTube and realized that she doesn't detangle her hair every week. She does it every 2-3 weeks and feels like that's what keeps her curls in tact. Does anyone else not detangle with a comb often? When I first went natural I didn't use a comb to detangle because my hair was so short. But now that it's longer I felt I had to detangle every week to get rid of shed hairs. What do you guys think? Check out the video (warning it's kinda long) and tell me what you think?
First, your makeup combo was really cute on you. Loved the hair too.
I detangle with my shower comb in the shower once a month but because I do twist all the time, I detangle the sections before I twist my hair. So I guess that would be considered detangling once a week.

Thanks Lynnieluve! I totally forgot you guys! Today is my 7 month nappiversary! So excited! w00t! I just did a length check on my bangs and the results are in... the first pic was taken mid September and last pic was tonight!
Hooray for growth! I'm so happy I went natural! I'll never go back! Be strong transitioners! It is so worth it!

Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Thanks everyone! Today I did my hair! It's one of 2 days off from work so I took advantage of it! I did a bentonite clay treatment, co-washed (and finished a bottle of VO5 Tea Therapy Conditioner! only 6 more bottles of various conditioners to go through! ) Then I started micro twisting my hair! After 8 long hours of twisting and catching up on tv here are my results! I am challenging myself to leave them in until March 15th! Let's see if I can do it!

What's the longest you've kept a set of twist in your hair?

Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Thanks everyone! The longest I've kept twists in is I think 2 weeks... maybe even less lololol. Well I had kinky twists in for like 3 weeks but it was a struggle lol. I just love playing with my hair hehe. I will try to be strong though! I mean when I was relaxed I would just put my hair in a ponytail and call it a day so I should be able to do twists for long periods of time right?!
Re: *xtremelyperfect*
So I just had the easiest hair Sunday ever lol! It's 1 in the afternoon and I'm done with my hair. AMAZING! I co-washed my twists with HE Hyrdalicious. Then did my special deep conditioning concoction and left that in for an hour. Then I did my first ACV rinse ever. Now I'm just chilling waiting for my hair to dry so I can retwist any random twists that came undone during the process. w00t! Maybe I will be able to conquer my challenge! Only 21 more days to go lmao...
Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Hey ladies! Happy Monday! Nothing much going on the hair front. Continuing my twists challenge. I still spritz with my aloe grow and last night I oiled with my AfroVeda Shikakai Hair Growth Oil. Fun times.
Last night I went to a baby shower and I hid most of the twists in a beanie! I spritzed, put a plastic cap on and then my beanie! Gotta keep my hair moisturized. Here's the final look:
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

ok where are you located, can you twist my hair please? LOL I love the twist and that smile is contagious.
Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Thanks guys! lol sweetdrk1 if I'm ever in NJ I'll let you know I just got home from work and major shopping. I spent WAY too much money! But I did get a new beanie and 10 new headbands from H&M. I will definitely be rocking those when the weather is warmer and I don't have to wear twists all the time. Speaking of twists, they're still in... Even though I'm getting itchy to let Harriet be FREE! Unfortunately I still have 19 more days to go! Maybe I'll make a ticker so that it won't seem so daunting.. hmmm. Anywhoo hope everyone had a happy Tuesday!
Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Happy Hump Day everyone! Today I start my new job! I'm so excited to be working in a happy, positive environment. Well for the most part. Every job has stresses involved but at least these are people I love(I'm returning to work at a restaurant I used to work at 5 years ago).My hair is still twisted up! I'll probably wear some fierce jewelry to liven it up. ) I feel like my entries are so boring now that I'm doing this twist challenge, lol. Oh wells, what can you do? Off to get ready for work. Later gators!
Re: *xtremelyperfect*
So it's almost the weekend. w00t! I made it through week 1 of the twists lol. Only 2 more weeks to go. I've been oiling my scalp every other day and of course baggying every night and keeping Harriet moisturized. I don't think I'll do a deep conditioning treatment this week (first time in a while going without some kind of treatment). I just don't want them to get too fuzzy and don't want to spend a lot of time re-twisting stuff that comes undone. I'll do it 2 Sundays from now though for sure. Hope everyone's doing well!
Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Thankns SheeTacular! Happy Friday everyone! I took pics today. Last Friday I posted pics of my fresh twists so I figured I'd update and show you what they look like a week later.... and I was bored, lol. Anywhoo... Here are the pics. Nothing too exciting lol. I can't believe I still have 2 more weeks til I'm done with my challenge. It feels like it's been a month already hahahaha.
Roots
Hope you guys have a great weekend! This will be my first Sunday not doing anything hair related in a while. Yikes! I'll be fine though... I hope hehe.

Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Congrats on your 7th month anniversary! I loved your make up--very pretty!
I rarely comb or brush my hair to detangle. Today was the first day in a long time I used a comb to detangle in the shower. I do use a rattail comb when setting hair with rods. I say do what is best for you.

Hey ladies! How's everyone doing?! Soooo I had a big change of plans with my hair. I was scratching my scalp a couple days ago and holy cow was there build up! I was like hmm can I get away with 2 more weeks of not washing it??
Well last night on a spur of the moment decision I took my twists out, washed my hair, henna/indigo-ed, deep conditioned and now my hair is in plaits and I'll be micro-twisting it up all day. I figured one night of loose hair doesn't completely ruin my challenge right?! Plus if you saw the ick under my nail you'd be like girl wash your hair lololol. So anywhooo I uploaded pics of my entire process which took about 7 hrs to my fotki so go check it out (link in my signature). I know it's total craziness but my hair looks so nice right now so I don't care hehe!
I did notice though, this being my second henna treatment that my curl pattern loosened a little. I didn't think it would but I guess over time it has different effects on your hair. See the waviness?
K. time for lunch. Hope you ladies are well.
