'Baggying"....
Hi Ladies!
So of course I am aware of the regular definition of baggying... Leaving a moisturizer in for some amount of time (hours/days) to get the intense moisturizing effect of the plastic bag/cap holding in moisture. However, if I don't do it for more than an hour or so (following up with my nightly twisting to stretch my coils) How much is too much? Is it bad to baggy 3-4x in a week?
(note: in the interest of making sure I don't get too much moisture v. protein, I've recently added a weekly "light" protein treatment to my regimen)
What do you ladies think?

Knowing when it's too much depends on how your hair responds and how well you know your hair. You'll know you've over moisturized when it's limp, breaking and strands feel weak. I did a baggy for a week straight leaving it on overnight. And I also use a weekly light protein treatment so I didn't notice a problem (by the way I mix my protein conditioner with a moisturizing conditioner and oil). But everyone's head is different. Either way if you do over moisturize the protein should help it bounce back.

I haven't tried a DC yet. I'm thinking of doing one tomorrow night after my water aerobics class. I would think you would need to DC as much as your hair needs it.

When I was transitioning I'd have my hair in a (fake) bun and have them baggied for up to a week, to protect the ends, without any issue. I think the general rule is as long as you keep your hair clean and moisturized it's good-- but I could be wrong. . .
