Yes I use it but I have mine in a jar. I thought about using it as a spritz. That might be good for WnGs for curl definition
Re: jamaicacurl
I simply love your hair.

Re: jamaicacurl
About how much of each did you use for your spritz? How do you typically use the GVP balm--leave in, detangler, etc.?jamaicacurl wrote:Today was a rainy day so I didn't bother to wash n go. Instead, I made a small batch of spritz a la Curly Nikki's setting lotion recipe. I used GVP Conditioning Balm, water, Aloe Vera Gel and setting lotion and mixed in a spray bottle. Re-wet my hair with that and pulled it into a side bun.
I took my bun down after work and my hair was felt pretty moisturized. I think this might be a good thing to use to acheive decent 2nd day wash n go. I'll let you know.

Oh ok. Yeah try it as a spritz. It seemed to work well for me.

Well, I have a 4oz spray bottle so I used approx. 2 Tbsp of the conditioner, 2 Tbsp of AVG, 2 oz of setting lotion and about the same amount of water.
I used to use the GVP balm more often as a rinse out conditioner (what it's for) but now I use something else more often and use the GVP as a leave in. But it's great as both! I love how thick it is and how moist it makes my hair. It's also a good conditioner to use when doing a DT where you're mixing a few things.

Hey ladies! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Nothing exciting to report today. Yesterday I wore a 3 day old wash n go that I spritzed with my setting lotion mix. That's the longest I've kept a wash n go going!
Today is another wng day...but I'm noticing lately that my hair is lacking umph! It's just there...curls aren't poppin like they were before and the top layer is just wavy. Someone asked me last week if I crimped my hair! I probably need to do a DT. Despite my plans and intentions to do some type of DT weekly, I haven't done one in I think 2 weeks.

I need some honest advice! I really like big hair...on other people. I want it for myself too but my hair just doesn't have the volume that it used to. I fluff it up as much as I can and while it does give me more oomph I'm wondering if it really even fits my face. Probably because I'm so used to wearing my hair pulled back in some sort of way I don't feel like it looks "right" on me to be all out. Normally I wear it with the front center pinned back, but that kinda accentuates my big forehead lol! (We are our own worst critic!)
So here are a couple pics. Please tell me what you honestly think looks better:
Front pinned back (the usual):
Or all out and fluffed:
I wear my glasses mostly so here's what all out looks like w/glasses (yes it matters lol!)
I am definitely open to suggestions!
When I saw your pictures, I thought your hair looked very nice. But instead of commenting, I decided to show it to a trusted friend. You know how you have your food critics, you have movie critics, etc. Well, he is a male that is a female hair critic. He said, "Picture # 1: She looks nice. Picture # 2: Fabulous. Picture # 3: Smart; exquisite, fabulous and definitely 'dateable'."
After he commented on picture # 3 I told him you were married and he said, "That man needs to tell his woman how beautiful she is so that next time I don't have to."

Re: jamaicacurl
Aw thanks ladies! Ever since I posted that and got so many positives about my hair all out, that's how I wear it most days.
Today I did a bun and I'll post a pic in a bit. I put a butterfly clip in the center of the bun and I wore butterfly earrings. At work, a student was admiring my earrings and kept pulling on them. At one point a bunch of kids (pre-K class) came up to me and were all over me playing. One of the teachers saw the butterfly in my hair and thought it was one of my earrings and said "oh no! Is that your earring or part of your hair piece?" In my head I was like hair piece???? I see these people every week, they've seen my hair out borh curly and straight, we've discussed that my hair is all mine and today she assumed it was a hair piece! I had to laugh at that one!
