Hi all,

I am a newbie to Curly Nikki forum Smile Love the site.

I was wondering, how do you use refined mango butter on the hair? It is pretty hard, so do you warm it up? I bought it with avocado butter from Texas Natural Supply (btw, love avocado butter [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ).

Thanks for any suggestions!

You can whip both with oils to make a thick butter to seal moisture into your hair and to twist with. You can also use it on your skin for head to toe benefits. Smile

Is it refined or unrefined? I know most purchase unrefined products from Texas Natural Supply.

Thanks LadyMika Smile

@Chrs - it's refined. Which is better for the hair?

you can use it the same way you as would shea butter. it melts easily. just put some in your palm and rub your hands together.

I got some from butters-n-bars and it seemed a little gritty. But once I liquified it in my hands it was very smooth. My body loved it but my hair did not. I used it in a shea butter mix and it still did not work for my hair.

I prefer unrefined oils and butters.

I suggest using it to seal hair. You can mix it with shea and/or oils. It is much harder to emulsify, IMO. I would definitely add oils to it to make it easier to spread.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I appreciate it!

Chrs - I will have to look for unrefined next time. Good tip on sealing.
