Re: March Big Chopper
My hair is doing great, since I BC-ed, I have colored, and did a bentonite treatment. I have not played around with diffrent syles yet, but it is tempting.

Re: March Big Chopper
My hair is coming along pretty well. I can tell it's growing I've hennaed twice and I've done a black cherry rinse that didn't come out. I'm trying to resist doing a cherry cola rinse but I REALLY miss the red in my hair :/ I've been sampling products here and there. I've discovered l'm on the verge of being extremely protein sensitive. I tried the Curls for Target line... not feeling it to well but I want to try the professional line. I my Yes to Cucumbers condish with my Giovanni Direct Leave in. Still on the search for an awesome DC. I've tried the Shea Moisture DT masque and I had better results with my ORS/honey/EVOO mix.
Other than that I'm attempting my first actual style since my BC as I type... so far I'm kind of liking it just ready to be done. Hopefully I can get some decent pics soon.

Re: March Big Chopper
I am a March BC'er and It has been wonderful. The texture of my hair has totally changed. Becuase I have major shrinkage, It doesn't look like it, but I've have excellent growth.
I transitioned for 3.5 months before my BC. Some of the earlist BC pics:

I have had times of PJ'ism but I am trying to tame that beast. I have found some fairly basic and inexpensive products that I can literally tell that my hair loves...
Trying not to get impatient. After my BC I had to put my basket of hair accessories on the top shelf since i wouldn'tbe able to use them anymore. The other day I attempted to do a flat twist and had to pull out my old basket of accessories. I was soooo happy I had to tell everyone. Of course they all looked at me like "O...Kayyyyy". I was able to get it twisted without much trouble but the eco styler gel wasn't dry the net morning so I did a faithful CoWash & Go.
But this experince has , by far, been the one of the best things i have ever done. Some more recent pics:

I'd like to hear how my fellow March BC'ers are fairing as well.

Re: March Big Chopper
My hair is growing and is healthier and thicker than it ever was when I had a relaxer. I am still experimenting with products to find a regimen that I love.

Re: March Big Chopper
I also BC'ed on March 17th and my current staple is wash and condition 5 days a week with B-complex biotin shampoo (no sulfates) and condition. Then I use Yes to Carrots with my co-wash 2 days a week. I have did a henna treatment twice and plan to do so each month. After my wash, I put Cantu Shea Butter as a sealant, then Long Aid Activator to keep moisture all day and Ecostyler Olive oil gel to for hold. Here is a picture, almost 3 months.

RE: March Big Chopper
i big chopped near bald on Sunday March 21st and i will never forget that day upon getting up from the barber chair and seeing my head zip zap i had no hair and then when i touched i could only feel little fuzzies. But i walked right out with a smile i had formely big chopped on Feb 17th with a fresh perm and only two weeks of new growth but i couldn't deal with the two textures straight in the front curly in the back. But i never wore a wig or tried to cover it up. And im fine with the growth i have ill let my hair do its thing and im not going to lie every now and again i do look at pictures to see how my hair is growing but im not obsessed over it though. Im still trying to discipline myself in regards to buying and trying so many things. Right now what i do is cowash each morning i was using suave almond shea butter but now im using YTCarrots smells great and works great and then i put a little dap of the YTCarrots and pour about three drops of jojoba oil in my hands and rub it through i DT every sunday with Shea butter jojoba oil olive oil coconut oil rosemary and peppermint raw honey and rose water with a little Garnier Fructis 3min masque and i only wash once a month. over the weekend i was trying the shea moisture line to add to my regimen which is a no go since my hair hates it. Im looking forward to twist outs and a BAA [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
