Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
Hey Robin! I forgot to contact you before the Cleveland natural hair expo. Did you go? I only went Saturday. It was actually very nice. Lots of vendors, fashion, food and other wholistic kinds of services. Hopefullly they'll do it again next year and get the word out.
Well, that said- your hair is looking great and I like that your man likes your hair!

Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
Chunky flat twists with twist out in the back.
More two-strand twists
I think I've learned to manage my curly top. I have to allow the curls to clump with the twist and lock gel in it and then I take the natural clumps and twist. They held much better.
Twist out
My first real puff!!! Yay!!
Today is 8 months post relaxer (32 weeks) and two days ago was my two month anniversary of my BC!! I can't believe how much I LOVE my hair. Some days are frustrating but on the whole I am still in love!! This is the best decision I've ever made concerning my hair. Thanks ladies for all the support!!!
Ok, my normal routine is to wash weekly with KC Come Clean or co-wash with HEHH. I DC with Giovanni SAS mixed with EVOO and peppermint oil. OH MY SWEET JESUS - adding in the peppermint oil with my dc was heavenly and the smell made me want to die and go to heaven, plus my scalp was wonderfully stimulated. I use the Kimmaytube mix to moisturize, seal with EVOO and castor oil on my edges. I then use KCCC for my WnG's or ORS Twist and Lock Gel for my twists. I moisturize my twists daily with a little kimmaytube and spray with a mixture or evoo, water, Aloe vera juice and two drops of peppermint oil.
I try to keep my twists in for 5-6 days. If I'm doing wng's I co-wash every other day or sometimes daily. Depends on my mood.
As I said, I'm now getting the hang of my "looser" hair at the top. Just gotta work with them instead of against them!
I tried to baggy with HEHH and castor oil last night and my hair did not like it one bit. Gotta go back to the Giovanni SAS for DC's and baggying.
Later curlies!!

I didn't end up going. The day was just way to busy. Glad you had a good time! We have to plan a meet-up here. Thanks for the hair compliment. It's getting there.

Now you know I'm lovin that puff!! Your first....
You are doing a great job with your hair. I like the SAS as well...may have to add a little peppermint oil and see how that works.
Have a great day!!

Thanks so much! I'm trying. I couldn't believe I actually had a puff!!! The peppermint oil was like heaven and my scalp felt so wonderful afterward. Please do try! I also out two drops in my spray bottle that has water, aloe vera juice and olive oil. I shake and pray when my hair gets dry.

I love my WnG's but with the weather getting colder I can't go out with my hair wet anymore and it takes hours to dry. I can't believe how long my hair takes to dry. Crazy! Plus I really want to get into more protective styling. I want to see some serious healthy growth!

Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
Ok, you all know I'm trying to do different styles with the TWA of mine (is it still a TWA if it's like 4 inches stretched?)
My ranting for the week - This week I bough AOHR and Garnier Fructis Cream Gel. I did a DC with the AOHR. Not quite sold on it but I want to try it again. The Garnier was ok. Left my hair soft and shiny but it felt a little "producty". Last night I co-washed and my hair felt HORRIBLY dry, especially the back. I just didn't have time to shampoo and DC so I baggied last night with oils and this morning rinsed and did a quick co-wash with HEHH. I did a WnG with Kimmaytube mix and KCCC. My hair is felling better now. Anyone have that happen with the garnier fructis? I'm wondering if it's the mineral oil that's in it that stopped my hair from getting in my moisture? I also had white specks in my hair. NOT HAPPY. :-( It could have been that I was too heavy handed though. I tend to be with products. I may try it one more time and see what happens. I was a little worried about the mineral oil but it got such rave reviews.
Here we go with the pics . . . . . .
Flat twists in the front with 2-strand single twists in the back
Twist-out pulled up on the sides
Loving the back!!!
My sweetie and I went bike riding and he took this at the park . . .
This mornings WnG

Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
Your twist look Great... Seems like you are transitioning from the TWA to the NOT so TWA.... LOL Happy growing...
Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
I am getting much faster, thank God! LOL! Depending upon the size of the twists it takes about 1 - 2 hours for my whole head. Really chunky ones don't get to stay in for days though. I think I'm going to retwist this weekend for the next week. I love that picture as well. It was such a beautiful day and the creek was AMAZING!! Fall always makes me appreciate God for His "creative" abilities. :-)

Twist and Loc is Organic Root Stimulator. I used the Garnier Fructis Cream Gel for this set. Please see my rantings above for complaints. LOL!

Oh, ORS. I don't use their products right now. Never used Garnier. Heck I am trying to jump on the Aussie train. We'll see.

Don't say Aussie!!!! I'm trying not to indulge my pj'ism.
I'm going to try the Garnier one more time. Hopefully the issue was that I got product happy and just need to use less. Nikki seems to get such great results but whats works for one doesn't always work for another.
Your hair is looking so BIG and pretty. I'm loving it!!! Can't wait til mine gets that length and I can finally bun! Yay for bunning!
Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
wooooow u are giving us alot of options wit the twa (which i'd say is about BAA now) and looking good.
as far as the garnier, i used it in my first 3-4 months after my bc but ur right, u get the white specks n i wasnt feelin that, plus i had to rub it in too much to distribute so OFF it went. the only thing i'd use is the DC in a pinch!
