What you do: Physiotherapy student (trying to be anyway, going through a second severe episode of depression, so don't know if I'll be able/allowed to finish the course )
How long you've been natural: Not yet! I'm transitioning. Last relaxer August '10
Why did you go natural: I've admired natural hair since I was a child (disliked my own Jheri curl/relaxed hair), also, with my hair relaxed, it was straight and easy to deal with so I was able to get away with not looking after it at all and being seriously lazy, behaviour I've grown ashamed of (how can I expect to be loved if I have no desire of even taking care of myself??). Also, every 6 weeks, I'd have a good inch or so of new growth, yet my hair was always the same length - where was my hair going??
Anyway, I relaxed before term started, and then when it was time for a retouch, I thought bugger going all the way back to London just to put chemicals on my roots and I plaited my hair and went form there! I had been bookmarking loooooads of natural hair articles, websites, videos, pics for about a year and kept putting off the transition, worrying about how I'd manage doing it while at Uni, but the decision to finally go for it just came out of nowhere really.
Hair type: 4C, kinky, nappy, dry and ITCHY, afro, cottony - that's what it feels like so far anyway, I'll know more when it's longer or when I do the BC.
Fav products: None yet! I fear I might become a pj and I'm forcing myself not to buy anything else while I'm waiting for my Black Friday products from Qhemet (I guess the snow here plus it's Christmas plus International shipping = I'll be waiting a month). But I am simultaneously excited and terrified by the thought of having to learn what my hair likes.
Online Album: Noooooo! I am NOT photogenic. The poor, unsuspecting public do not need to be tormented by my pictures! There's Facebook though, for the people who have grown used to my face over the years.

I'm a bit scared though. Pretty much all the girls/women I've seen while researching natural hair seem to be so confident and stylish with it. I am highly introverted and a walking fashion disaster (tomboy)! I'll be letting my natural sisters down! And will I be able to handle big hair and the attention it seems to draw?

I'm from the Washington, DC area (born and raised). I've been completely natural for 2 years. I work as a patent secretary and a MOTHER. My favorite products are Organics Olive Oil Shampoo, Organics Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner and the Organics Olive Oil hair dress. I'm looking to broaden my hair care regimen. Organics products are great, the hairdress makes my hair soft and manageable, but I need something that will keep the moisture in - the hairdress doesn't last long and it looks dry after a day or so. Oh! I do not have an online album...

Born and raised in NYC. I sell vintage and contemporary clothing online. I've been natural for about 5 years, but I've gone to the salon for roller sets, so it basically looked as if I had a relaxer. My beautician was great, no BC, so I was able to keep my length through the transition. In May my private summers and night sweats became more prominent, so I spent a great deal of time and money at the salon. June, I said forget it, and began my journey with totally natural.
Youtube has been very helpful and recommending products. However, I've spent a small fortune and I still don't have the results I want. So I'm looking forward to reading and learning here.

Where are you from: I hate this question. I'm about to embark on my 11th move come this February/March. But in my heart, and sometimes attitude, I'm definitely a MD chica. And that's what my name tag says. I currently live in Charlotte, NC.

What do I do: I just graduated with a degree in Hotel and & Lodging management.... I continously ask myself why, lol. Hopefully I will get into the sales, meeting, events, conventions side of things. Work in that field for a while, then hopefully let my experience push me into sports/entertainment/arena sales.
