How Long Natural: I'm not exactly sure....I never big chopped...just let my hair grow out... I think about 3 years?
Favorite Products:I'm still looking...I had some serious product junkie going on and I'm trying to curb it...But I do think I like Coconut Oil...ALOT.

How Long Have I Been Natural: Girl I wish, I'm transitioning. Last perm forever on July 15, 2009! I started to get relaxed when I was 12/13 and I'm 19 now so I'm ready to give it up.
Favorite Products: Well I'm still trying to find the best products for my hair but I really love Aussie 3-min deeeep moisture, Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle & Rose (although the smell ain't all that), shea butter (my hair eats it up, like its a joke or something)
I don't have an online hair album I just take pictures on my photobooth, I should invest in one though.

-- I decided to go natural because I didn't understand why I needed to chemically straighten my hair when I could just be natural and straighten when I wanted to but now I don't even want to straighten my hair when I'm natural (at least not as many times as I believed I would when I am finally natural). During my transition I noticed I am becoming more confident and comfortable with who I am (my scalp seems healthier too, finally put down the sulfur8, not needed anymore). I'm just waiting to be comfortable with cutting off the permed ends and being free with myself and my hair!

How Long Have I Been Natural: I BC'd in 2007 and hair length grew to about 6 inches, then I got a terrible press that left me with random straight strands, and BC'd again last month (11/11/09)

How long have you been natural: My last perm was in December 2001, officially made the decision to go natural in February 2002, couldn't take the 2 textures anymore and chopped off the relaxed ends in April/May 2003. I wore my hair out in an afro once and was completely uncomfortable and had no idea what to do with my natural hair so I began pressing it for the next 6 years. The last time I straightened or put any kind of heat in my hair was June 2009. Luckily all that pressing didn't harm my kinky curls [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] so I didn't have to transition again.
Fav products: Giovanni Deeper Moisture shampoo & conditioner, Giovanni Direct Leave-In, Shea butter and jojoba oil mix,Kinky Curly Curling Custard, Jane Carter Shea butter stuff lol......I currently have a list of products I want to try so I'm sure i'll be suffering from product junkism in the very near future lol

How long you've been natural: I went natural when I started college back in 1999 and I've been natural on and off for the past 10 years - the longest period being 3 years. Each time I'd get comfortable with my natural hair, I'd get tired of what I considered to be limited styles (I only knew how to two strand twist) and I'd relax it. I've now been natural for over a year and I'm not going back. I've been pressing my hair though and haven't worn it in any natural styles this time around. I'm hoping that this forum will help me get some ideas.
Fav products: I don't have any yet. I get my hair pressed in my stylists kitchen and I don't really pay much attention to what she uses. I've seen her use Herbal Essence Hello Hydration and I loved how soft my hair turned out. I recently purchased a few Carol's Daughter products and I'm hoping to get up the courage to wash my own hair using these products soon.

I am from Houston, TX (hot & humid ... but not lately-brrrr !!) My profession is in the accounting related field. My last relaxer was May 2008 and I BC'd June 2009. I mentioned in another thread that I wore afro kinky twists while I transitioned. My avatar is a picture of my hair after it was washed, conditioned and naturally "loose" for the first time (August 2009). It's sort of a wash and go --I guess. I've noticed my hair tends to like anything with coconut oil in it (Vatika oil, HE Hello Hydration, castille soap). At this time I do not have an album but, I'll have to try to do better. My hair has grown quite a bit since this picture.

A little about me and my hair:
I'm from the midwest, born in Chicago, and currently living in Metro Detroit. I've been transitioning since April '09. I typically bun my hair, but lately the two textures have really been getting to me...LOL. I'm considering the BC at the end of the year, going into the new year/decade all natural. I haven't decided yet. It's cold in MI, and wash n' go's will be tough to swing.
What do I do?: I'm a mother with twin daughters, and I also work as a photographer/writer.
Favorite Products: I just started using HE Hello Hydration...LOVE IT. I also use the KK Knot Today as a leave in. Since I haven't BC'd I haven't invested too much in products yet.

I'm from New Orleans but reside in Richmond, Va (hate it). I'm an RN and I've been transitioning for two months.

I'm originally from Newark, Delaware, but I currently live in Virginia Beach. I've been natural for almost 4 years, after a horrendous medical procedure broke my hair off at the root. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise!
My absolute favorite must-have is Elasta QP Feels Like Silk liquid styling gel. I use the entire line of Curls (best cleanser and conditioner in the world!!), & a boatload of My Honey Child products.

What you do: Licensed Psychologist working at a university and I have my own practice.

How long you've been natural: Today is the one month anniversary of my big chop. After 5 years of contemplation I finally did it and could not be happier!!!

Fav products: So far my faves are Mixed Chicks Shampoo and Leave in Conditioner and coconut oil. Hoping to try out some of the fabulous suggestions from all of you.
