Re: Heat Damage
Wow!!!!! She really has heat damage, I mean it's a small piece, but still.
I have no experience with pressing/hot combs.
I do, however, plan on flat ironing my daughters hair soon so I can take her to get her first trim. I will be taking the proper precautions.
But...wow. And it's crazy that a stylist at an actual hair salon did that.
She says stove irons, so can you adjust that heat? Hmm..

Re: Heat Damage
Oh that's crazy, I have a ceramic iron and I don't think I will ever straighten my hair again, especially after seeing that. I also have one of those stoves and mine does not have a heat setting it goes up to like 400 or something. I don't remember because I bought it like 10 years ago and the last time I used it I burnt my hair off and burnt up my favorite silk scarf. Never again

Yeah the marcels and stoves is just like an oven in your kitchen without the knob...it just gets hot. When I would press my hair I would toilet paper to test the pressing comb or curling iron to see if it was too hot. Also, I would put them close to my face (yes I know) to see if it was too hot. However, depending on the actual hair it might be too hot where it isn't hot enough on another section. You really can't tell.
Also, what she didn't say was that she had been flat ironing her hair quite a bit from what I could tell from her recent videos. So heat damage over extended period of time or just one time...you can never tell when its going to happen.
