1st birthdays
Well 1-12-10 my son will be 1. Since this is the parenting mini forum I thought that we could talk about things that we think about or thought about on or around our children's 1st birthdays.
I will definitely say I didn't think this year would go by so fast. I'm kinda sad to see it go... We aren't having a party for our son but I will definitely update tomorrow about our family get together!
So what are you thoughts on the biggest "1ST" milestone of them all?

Cherish It!
I took lots of pictures of my daughters first birthday party and sometimes I wish I could rewind time back to that moment. My daughter has grown so much in a year. She is half my size.
You have one year down and a lifetime more to go. (Just thinking about it Im tearing up).

Puddles...your babys birthday is the same as mine! LOVE THAT!!
My pumpkin has just hit the 6 months mark and I'm already beginning to feel devastated at how fast he is growing up. My goodness...It seems as if I just held him in my arms for the first time.

I don't know what we'll do for his first birthday yet but it will probably just be family and close friends around.

I felt the same way when my son turned 6mo! I get mommy guilt sometimes...
Tuesday was a pretty good day, there was ice cream and family and playing until almost 11, he wouldn't sleep, I guess he thought he didn't need to now that he's 1 lol! No party though because my son hasn't shown that he's fond of the happy birthday song but he didn't try to cry this time. We had just a nice family get together only 5 of us and he enjoyed himself, the important thing.
I'm sad because I feel that I missed alot of his first year but since he has been walking for awhile I can't wait until it gets warm outside so we can have some tot-tot adventures!

Re: 1st birthdays
I remember my oldest daughters first b'day. She was teething and didn't want to play. She hadn't started walking so most of her time was spent on someone's hip. I loved the moment she put her hands in the cake. I wish I could go back to it, but I can't. So I'll just look foward to my baby's first b'day in June,....pool party it is!!!!!!!!!!
Re: 1st birthdays
My son will be 2 on 2-12-10 and I am in the process of planning his "Mickey Mouse Playhouse" party. He wouldnt even touch his "smash" cake last year so I am looking forward to it this year. He was excited by the fire though.
