TWA odd phase style photos
Let's face it...with our TWAs we all reach a point where we just feel odd. It's like "YEA!!! I have an afro!!!!" But it's also like "UH....what do I do with it?"
So, I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread where we show off the ways we rock our odd phased TWAs. Please post photos, and how-to's if possible, of you favorite do. Post as many as you like. Remember, everytime you post a photo, you are showing someone else that no matter what stage they are in, they are still beautiful and can rock many styles.
Don't be mad at me...BUT....I just thougt of this at work and my camera is at home. I'll take pics of my current do and post it tomorrow.
Here is my coil out:

@tiffy2, you'll be surprised at what your hands can do once you put them to work. Thanks for the comp.
@KinkyNappyHappy...it looks like you have a good bit of hair, I am definitely looking foward to those results. As for the parts, don't use a comb. When I did my twist out I didn't use a comb and it help to cover up the parts very well. I did part my hair with the comb for my coil out, but the parts didn't get covered up until about day 3 or 4. Another thing you can do is pick at your roots after you unravel the twist.
@Femmefox...I would love to see those twa twist!!!!

Re: TWA odd phase style photos
Okay...I wanted to post several pictures from the braid out I tried, but for some reason I can not post pictures directly to any posting. However, I did upload my avatar with the picture I took this yesterday.
I pulled my hair back and put on a headband I could get the sections to come together. I'm trying to wear my hair without the headband, but I guess this is going to take a while.
I took a lot of pictures yesterday, but for some reason I can't post.
I sectioned my hair off into 12 sections and braided my hair with Qhemet's gel and heavy cream...twisted the ends and sealed with Qhemet's Olive & Honey Hydrating Balm.
That is all I did...just didn't come out like I thought it would. I think the problem some of us may have that are rockin's a TWA, we get confused with the video's and information we received.
In the real world I wish that the natural sisters with TWA's would show us how to do our hair. (I guess that would mean I need to get busy right!!!)
Sorry...I'm having problems posting pictures; I took quite a few today. Here is one of my pictures from Saturday....

To be honest, I think it looks great, and the headbands adds a little something to it. Keep at it honey, practice makes perfect.

Thanks JackieJ205~
I think I will try different styles on the weekends That way I can co-wash if I don't like the end result. Not enough time during the week. Believe it or not...my hair can make me late for work. Can you believe that...

Looks good! The back is always the hardest to keep up. My length is much shorter in the back and always needs to be touched up first.

Re: TWA odd phase style photos
That is a really cute frohawk! i'm soo gonna have borrow that style!
I recently BC'd on Feb. 6th so i'm just getting started with my twa...
i've been wearing it as a wash n go for the last week since thats all i had a chance to do... here are some pics...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
ITs suppose to be like a curly puff. i used a cut up stocking to pull my hair up and tight then added my shell necklace around as a headband. gelled my baby hair with IC gel and sprayed with a spray bottle with HETT, water and olive oil
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
THis is a wash n Go with the same spray bottle and some IC gel shingled (im still getting the hang of that) through the hair. I oput gel on the front and pushed it back for some waves and then added a flower.
Tonight i have it in 2strand twists... lets see how they turn out tomorrow....

[img]http://www.curlynikki.forumotion.com/[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img]I have been transitioning for 7 months, but over the weekend I decided to BC. I was getting really fed up with the two different textures and became very hard to take care of. It was shocking to see my hair so short and it still is but I'm growing to like it more everyday.
Re: TWA odd phase style photos
So after 100 years I am posting a pic of my twist-to-coil. I just came up with it this weekend. I washed, dc'd, and moisturized an exsiting set of twists. Then I used shea butter to seal and untwist. I then coiled each section of the unraveled twist around my finger in opposite directions.

Lol! It took me how many months to get my one picture up? Hahaha. I need to be better about updating my Fotki and posting new pics. I just seem to be wearing one style pretty much all the time now (twists and variations on that theme). I do want to keep a record of how fast my hair is growing tho....
