Perfumes Empty Perfumes

Post by Ambitious_Tiff 26th March 2011, 11:46 pm

Hey y'all! The weather is warming up and its time again for a little swag change. I have some current faves but I am looking for a new perfume. The ones that seem to work best with my body chemistry are Ralph Lauren Romance, Touch of Pink by LaCoste and Provocative Interlude by Elizabeth Arden. I'm looking for some perfumes that are a little more "Springy." Y'all chime in with some of your faves and where to get them. TIA!

Hhhmm... Two votes on that D&G Light Blue, definitely on my list.

@Mangos&Bananas
Elegant and sweet. Its like you are inside my head!

@Fanmnatirel
Lol @ Flower Bomb. We don't have a Macy's here but I know some nearby cities that do. Maybe when I go to the Expo in ATL I will hit one up! shoppingspree# cheers

@CreoleBeauty
I didn't know Rihanna has a perfume!! I love her music, hope I love her perfume as much. Aren't you from ATL?

Count me in as another vote for Light Blue by Dolce and Gabanna. When I think of spring I definately think of that fragrance. I love Chanel No. 5 too, but I can totally understand why you might not like it. It's an acquired smell. LOL!I hadn't really thought about getting a new fragrance for the season but I might just do that. I've been wearing Allure Sensualle by Chanel (discontinued) all winter long so I'm due for a light fresh scent for Spring. I'll wait for the Mother's Day sales though. Until then I'll wear Allure until it runs out and mix in Dolce and Gabanna The One on occasion(OH! Also a good choice for Spring). I want to get Light Blue too, but everyone wears it here. I may check into Jo Malone. That way I can mix and match my scents and come up with something unique. I like the Amber & Lavendar with French Lime Blossom. I just tried some samples that I had, and yeah, that's the combo I'm going to go with. Her fragrances are pretty pricey so I'll buy a big bottle of the Amber & Lavendar and ask for samples of the French Lime & Blossom. LOL! You can purchase any of the named fragrances above from any of your major Dept. stores, Sephora, and ULTA. Except for Jo Malone, you have to get that from Neiman Marcus, Saks, or Nordstrom.

I just got some Ed Hardy, not sure which one it is, but it comes in a graffiti type bottle that looks like his clothing. I got it a local expo so I'm not sure if it's in Macy's or Dillards, but it's my new favorite. But two of my old faithfuls are Cool Water and Miami glo by J. Lo.

Vera Wang has some really nice 'floral' perfumes. My next perfume purchase will be Gucci Flora; I tested it in the store and wore it for a few hours and really liked it.

That Light Blue must be the shiggidy, I definitely need to put that on my list.

@Tamtam7
Dang girl! You sound like me with all those perfumes. Why didn't I think of waiting until a Mother's Day sale hit? Great tip!

@Tashacu02
I had the Ed Hardy in the pink bottle. I love it but dropped it on my apt steps and broke the bottle. Sad Still got the lotion though!

@Swt_sunny
Idk why I didn't think of Vera Wang! I have one by her which I adore. definitely should re-up on that...

i don't like chanel no 5, either. it is def an acquired smell. my mom has an aged bottle of chanel no 5 (think 15 years old+), and i went and smelled it like a month ago thinking the aging makes it 'better' imo....i was thoroughly wrong imo...but my mother says the aging makes it so much more better *shrug*

i do adore chanel allure and coco chanel. i got allure from sephora and the coco chanel from neimans. worth every penny.

@dajewel, you were right ...perfumes don't keep. They can go bad. 15 years is an awful long time.
I wear Chanel's Allure bodycream...LOVE it

@Tamtam7
I will definitely try to hold out. Thanx again! Good old tnc hasn't failed me yet!

@DaJewel
Glad it wasn't just me, lol. I will give the others you mentioned a try. Maybe one will prove to be Chanel's saving grace. Idk the smell of perfumes changed over time! Learn something new every day. I have a few more questions about Carnival. If you don't mind. I will PM you once I get them together and have researched enough to not be asking you something I could have found out on my own...

@Duchess
Is the body cream a thick like a balm or more lotiony?

@Ambitious_Tiff, the body cream is thick..it holds more of the fragrance than the body lotion.

@Tiff...had to make sure we don't live around the corner from each other before I give out my scent...LOL!

My favorite is Bright Crystal by Versace...no matter what I wear, I always go back to it! I can't describe it, but it's a lighter smell than some perfumes that are musky like Channel number 5.

I think I might give Christal by Versace a try. As I live in the tropics I tend to go for lighter frangrances and also more the traditional than the trendy stuff.
