I'm Back!

Heyy yall!

Most of yall know might know me, but for those of you who don't my name is Oyin. I was natural for 17 years (which is pretty much my whole life since i'm 18 now lol). But yall can check out my natural hair bio in my post "College Curlies" in this section. I started the post and I pretty much explained my hair journey from birth! When I got to college in the fall of 2010 I had Senegalese twist in my hair that I did myself, but once I took them out in October (I think?!) I decided to get a relaxer out of no where, because I wanted to have short hair!! I must say that I love my relaxed short hair and I have a lot of versatility with the hairstyle, but I'm ready to go back to my roots and grow out my hair!! I probably won't big chop!! I'm just going to transition because I don't really have a lot of hair to begin with (I currently have a mowhawk) I'll post a few pics of my hair from natural to relaxed and I'll keep yall updated with my transition process!!

how has the transition been going so far?

Well I have a temp fade on the side, but I put a relaxer on it to lay it down, and that was about 4 weeks ago, so it is already growing out. My sides are practically natural! but the part that I worry about in the mowhawk part! I don't even have 1/2 an inch of new growth, but I'm pretty patience so I'm not in a rush. I'll be wearing weaves till my hair grows out enough to braid.

i'm giving my self 2 years to reach healthy APL hair while wet:)

You looked fierce with your short cut btw.. I was thinking of getting a undercut and have the rest curly but idk if i'd ever actually do it LOL

College has been fun so far, but it has it's ups and downs though.
and I'm glad to be back! I'm excited to see how my hair grows back:)

yeah i feel you on the college thing though... I'm having the time of my life but its really stressful at times. Hey, its way better than the real world though LOL

I wanna be excited for my hair growing out but I'm just too impatient! And I love long hair so shoulder length is the shortest I'll go... got another 6-12 months of transitioning left i suppose :/

it will be over before you know it!

Random question: are there a lot of naturals at your school?

haha it's all good!
and my school is really small and there is probably 30 black people there
out of those 30 black people maybe like 6 are natural????!
but the people here with relaxed hair have very healthy hair!
