Curly Bangs??
I've been thinking a lot lately about getting my hair cut and the idea of bangs keeps popping in my head. I really like the sideswoop bang look but I really can't commit to destroying my hair with heat so my hair would be curly 95% of the time..
So what do you guys think? Do any of you have or know of any cute curly styles with bangs? (Pictures would be greatly apreciated!)
P.S. I wear my hair in twist-outs/bantu knot-outs

I'm with you Karyn!! LoL
I'm getting an itch to hack a couple inches off but I don't want my hair to look crazy 0.o
IDK what to do though because if I go to a salon aren't they going to straighten it to cut the bangs??!?

I love moptopmaven. I had been wanting bangs and when she cuts hers I was like whatever and went for it.
I like them. Plus if they don't come out right there are so many styles to cover it up like braided headbands and stuff.

Re: Curly Bangs??
Basically how she said in her blog. Just made a u shaped part and then cut Across. Then I went in an upward direction. The second part is probably not madatory or that useful but that's how the lady that used to cut my hair did my bangs before and it was stuck in my mind.
Before you cut them you can check to see how you would look by taking the front part of your hair and pinning it up you can add a headband and wear it like that to see if you like how it looks/acts.

Re: Curly Bangs??
I'm not brave enough to do bangs, but I want them. I always kept bangs. Maybe in the winter so I won't be sweating on my forehead.
Re: Curly Bangs??
I did mine this weekend....heres the pic

I just curled them with flexi rods in lieu of cutting.

@ Bamncurls thanks! When I get back to the states that's gonna be on of the first things I do
@ Turquiozblue I think bangs would be very flattering on you. (I love your hair btw)
@ Frizzywaves very cutee! how long are the bangs when stretched?
Just a general ?...
Have any of you noticed a change in your skin since bangs? I really don't want to start breaking out now that I have my acne under control "/

Re: Curly Bangs??
Hey! Stretched my bangs are right below my brows. I used the 3/8" yellow flexis on wet hair then refreshed on dry hair a few days later. Just twirl them when u remove the flexis.
And yes if u use oil based products u will get a pimple. I use bentonite clay masks once a week so my oily skin is eliminated and so are the bumps
Hope That Helps!

Re: Curly Bangs??
I've been thinking about bangs but im too chicken especially since I wear my hair curly most of the time and I have small forehead and round face so I don't want to add more attention to that. But if I were to cut bang I would cut them on freshly styled hair.

Cool!
and I just cut mine but I haven't noticed any forehead breakouts yet. The bentonite clay masks do help if you have oily skin though.

Re: Curly Bangs??
Whenever I straighten my hair I faithfully wear my swoop bang because I have a big forehead and I just think it compliments my face. Bu tnow that I am natural I haven't worn a bang until the past week. I have been wearing chunky twist outs and here are my results. my hair is to my collarbone and to my bottom lip in the front. I love the shrinkage and I think this is my new do. I haven"t broken out ...yet lol

Re: Curly Bangs??
I'm planning on buying the betonite clay ASAP
Going home tomorrow so I'll probably cut my hair Saturday or so b/c I have plans tomorrow. I'll post pics
Dull sissors = split ends right? So is it ok if I sharpen the blades of my old hair sissors (lil sis used it to cut paper)?

Do you mean oil based hair products or oil based skincare? Cause I use both...

Re: Curly Bangs??
i cut it!! (badly though lol)
It was more of an impulse decision than anything, I cut it right before going to the mall. I felt fierce! but when I restyled it today I realized how badly it was cut. SMH I need some hardcore knowledge before I put a sissors to my head again.
Do any of you ladies have any advice, youtube videos etc...?
Pleaseandthankyou <3

Re: Curly Bangs??
Hey yall! I'm back and and boy do I have a story to tell!
The biggest problem I had with my first cut was that I didn't make a part, I just cut it in the style and honestly thought it would stay like that when I did my hair over. SMH :/
So, I looked at some youtube videos though and I found a really good one where this girl showed how to do a sideswept bang https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5JU9gFgRMk. So I basically followed her instructions to a T but added an extra couple of inches for shrinkage and whatnot. It was smooth sailing until I cut too much on the left side (the side without the bang). *Sigh* tried to fix it and the left and the right side were so different that I wanted to cry! Oh! did I mention my hair was noticably uneven after my "repair cut"?? I had to straighten and re-cut my hair (again!) because I needed it as badly as Geico needs new commercials LOL!
I still like the results though even after all I've been through but I will say this: I will nevah, nevah-eva-evah do this again!! Dis too much stress fuh me boo-boo! I hate salons but if going there means avoiding, count 'em with me, THREE hair emergencies then I'll take the day long wait and overpriced service with a smile.
P.S. I'm done venting I swear Here are some pics!

This was before the cut at Lion Country Safari. IDR what I was touching really but I think it's a sloth
