I'm considering to try wheat germ oil, but haven't heard any reviews. Has anyone tried it and if so, what do you think about it and would you recommend it?

I use it all the time in my pre-poo.. I just never tried it for growth.. On another hair board I heard about this oil and other oils that contains cermacides. I mix wheat germ, Hemp seed oil and Sunflower oils in my pre-poo..Only thing is wheat germ oil the smell takes some getting use to and there are times when I am heavy handed and get carried away with that oil and then I have to smell it for a while..

Salerm has a conditioner that seem like every review I read was good. Called Salerm Wheat Germ Conditioning Treatment. 6.7oz cost btwn $11-$17

This is from an article I got online..

Wheat Germ Oil
Wheat germ oil is an extremely rich, unrefined oil. It is packed with vitamins D, A and E, and is rich in protein. This unique oil is extracted from the wheat germ plant (Triticum vulgare). Once extracted, it lasts for about eight months. Keep wheat germ oil in a cool place, as high temperatures tend to degrade its quality.
Used Alone
A few drops of wheat germ oil are typically massaged into the scalp, either all over, or in spots where signs of hair loss are most evident. The massage itself can be beneficial, as it draws blood to the scalp area, bringing with it extra nutrients that can promote hair growth and healthy hair follicles. Massage wheat germ oil into your scalp on a daily basis. Even if hair growth doesn't occur--and often it doesn't--it will leave your existing hair more healthy.
Used in Combination
Wheat germ oil can be used in combination with several other substances, then massaged into the scalp as a natural remedy for hair growth. Wheat germ oil combined with aloe vera is common, as is wheat germ oil combined with coconut milk. Often wheat germ oil is combined with both aloe vera and coconut oil

Here is some more info:

Wheat Germ Oil Remedies
1
Massage a few drops of wheat germ oil into your scalp for at least two minutes. Repeat daily. If hair loss is an issue concerning you, concentrate on areas where your hair line is receding as you apply the oil. The massaging action as well as the vitamin E and proteins contained within the oil can help promote new hair growth.

2
Make a conditioning hair mask. Blend 1/2 a banana, 1/4 cantaloupe, 1/4 avocado, 1 tablespoon wheat germ oil and 1 tablespoon yogurt together. For extra conditioning, squeeze in the contents of a vitamin E capsule. Leave in hair for 15 minutes, before rinsing off.

3
Combine 2 1/2 tablespoons milk powder, 1 tablespoon wheat germ oil and 1 egg. Apply evenly to hair and let set for at least an hour. Shampoo and style as usual.

4
Mix 1 cup of wheat germ oil with 1 cup of sunflower oil. Warm the mixture slightly. Massage into the scalp and hair for 5 minutes. Rinse in warm water that has had a tablespoon of lemon juice added to it.

Castor Oil / Olive Oil Remedies
1
Combine 2 teaspoons of castor oil with one egg yolk. Massage into the head and hair. Rinse, and wash with a mild shampoo. This recipe acts as a natural conditioner.

2
Mix even amounts of castor oil and almond oil, another popular natural hair conditioner, together. Use as often as required to give the hair natural shine and protect it from damage.

3
Mix an even amount of olive oil and almond oil into a small bowl. Olive oil is an excellent natural de-stresser for the hair. Use fingertips to massage the mixture into the head and hair. Leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse off and shampoo.

4
Pour half a cup of olive oil into a jar with a lid, then add five drops of an essential oil, such as frankincense. Put the lid on the jar and shake well before leaving to sit for 24 hours in a cool, dark place. Shake again before use. Warm 1 tablespoon of the treatment in the palms of your hands and massage into the scalp. Repeat until the scalp is covered and use remaining oil for the ends of your hair. Secure a plastic bag over the head and leave for at least half an hour before rinsing off.

Hey Ladies just found a shampoo bar that has wheat germ oil in it I might have to get this shampoo bar..

Full Bar
Price: $7.00

Sample Bar
Price: $2.60

Summer Sunshine Shampoo Bar

Many of our customers have asked us to create a more floral, summery scented shampoo bar. We’ve captured that perfect citrus-refreshing summer fragrance in a scent that is energizing and uplifting, yet soothing and relaxing. Imagine the crisp clean citrus floral scent of a wispy breeze passing through a citrus grove and a field of herbs and flowers. This special bar is especially formulated for summertime hair when your scalp becomes more oily, but your hair more dry as it is exposed to sun and wind--but we love it all year round! We’ve added a triple dose of moisturizing wheat germ oil rich in antioxidants. Naturally nourishing mineral rich sea kelp adds protection to the surface of hair, reducing moisture loss and infusing it with vitamins. Kelp adds shine, conditions and strengthens hair. Coconut milk, often used as a deep conditioning treatment for hair, also adds extra creaminess to the bubbly, fluffy lather.
