Porosity Test?
I was reading about porosity and I see a lot of ladies say they have high or medium porosity. I did a test, putting a strand of hair in water and seeing how long it takes to sink. My hair took a minute to sink but not all the way down to the bottom, I didn't want to wait any longer for it to drop lol. But what does it mean since it took a minute to start descending?

It could be just normal, but you can also see how long it takes for your hair to dry when you get done washing it. My hair is about 4-5 inches and when i use to wash it and had high porosity hair, it took like 1-3 hours to dry. And after treating it, it takes about 5-6 hours to dry. I base it on drying time.

Tiff, I think it means its normal. The glass of water test that I saw on another forum (can't think which one) said if it sinks immediately, its too porous (not good) if floats for two minutes its not porous enough.
A good test is the feel test. When your hair is wet without product, does it feel hard or rubbery or just clean. Rubbery or smooshy wet hair is a sign of too porous. Hard, crunchy dry wet hair is a sign it is not porous enough. if you like the feel of your wet hair, its probably okay.

Re: Porosity Test?
Thank you ladies .
@meep, it usually takes 4 hours for my hair to dry.
@madeaj, my hair feels CLEAN! lol... I thought it was the honey & aussie moist but I'll let me hair take the credit lol.
I thought a minute was too long at first but I'm glad it's normal.
