Hair on the side of my head dryer than the top???

I've been trying to figure out how to keep my hair moisturized in a dry climate and I've noticed that the hair on the top of my head seems fine, but the hair on the sides of my head don't look quite right and are dryer. Even the hair on the back of my head seems ok, it's just the sides that are funky. What's the deal?

How are you sleeping on her hair at night? I have problems with my sides when I don't use my scarf or satin pillowcase.

To answer your question, the first thing I did when I got my products to try was to get a satin pillowcase. I had to actually go to the "ethnic" department at Walmart to get one lol! They didn't have any in the real bedding section, so stupid. Anyway, I htought that would fix it but nope.
