I know I am late but y'all bear with me. I have been toying with the idea of trying the KimmayTube Leave In since I've heard so many rave reviews about it. I am wanting to modify it some basically to avoid buying more product, lol. If its successful, I would also like to add Vitamin E as a preservative. I am thinking I can sub coconut oil for the jojoba oil but I am not sure if I can sub out the KCKT for my Aphogee Leave In since its not creamy. Perhaps this would mainly effect the consistency? What substitutions have you guys made that worked just as well?

The key to the mixture is it is ph Balanced. If you make those substitution, just make sure it's ph balanced.

I've had good success with subbing out the KCKT with Giovanni Direct Leave in

Hey Tiff, Do an internal search and there are many posts on the Kimmaytube leave-in. I think you will see a number of experiences, substitutions, etc. I have tried it with different oils and with KBN Sheloe. Of course the oils won't make a difference with respect to ph, but a water based condish will. Although the Sheloe leave in is ph-based (4.5 - 5.5), I did not get the same level of moisturization. I had to apply a leave-in earlier in the wk than I normally need to. I tried only the Sheloe and 1/2 Sheloe and 1/2 KCNT and I was still lacking in the moisture dept.

Also, remember, KCKT has the detangling quality also, so I would think a leave in that has ingredients that are detangling/smoothing/moisturizing would work best compared to others without these 3 qualities.
