Non-gel twist product for 4a/4b?
I am currently using gels to do my twist outs and was wondering if there is a good non-gel twitsing product on the market for 4a/4b hair. I have tried Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and it is not as good to me as the gels. Any suggestions?

I just recently used this on my twists. I think it had great hold and wasn't drying or anything. When I took my twists out about 4-5 days later, my twistout was really defined.

I'll have to look for that product. Did you have to go to a beauty supply store to get it or can you get it at Wal-Mart or Target?

I will have to look around and see if I can find a list of ingredients. If not, I'll just look when I get home.
I bought it from Walgreens I think. So Target or wally world should have some too.

I'd recommend the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque...it doubles as a leave-in/ styler. I like it a lot better for "out" styles than the Curl Enhancing Smoothie because it has more hold and my hair seems shinier.
I think the Curl Enhancing Smoothie is only good for moisturizing! The Deep Treatment Masque does both. Hope that helps!

I just checked the one I have and yes it does have mineral oil. I don't see any cones.

Thanks Takeya. I will have to try the masque. I think I've seen that in Target.

How about some Darcy's?
Glycerine free
Or
NOT glycerine free
Both 'cone free and obviously mineral oil free.

I agree with Jo Somebody I use only her products on my hair right now & they work so well for me I just purchased a jelly that she has & did a twist out last night I love it & the product
Her products are also resonably prices I love them even more because of that

i definitely don't get the same definition as when using gel...but Jane Carter Nourish & Shine and Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Heavy Cream would be my alternatives when twisting because they are great for locking in the moisture...

Aggieche, not sure if you still need this info, but I am a frequent flyer of JC Wrap & Roll-- good ingredient list, non drying, non-flaking, reasonably priced, available at brick-n-mortar, and co-exists well with other product lines.

Are these products available in stores? Darcy's, Jane Carter Nourish & Shine and Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Heavy Cream, and JC Wrap & Roll?

Jane Carter can be found in stores (Target) and Darcy's Botanicals and Qhemet Biologics can be found at some salons.
If you are ok with online purchases, I would suggest Bee Mine Luscious Moisturizer and the Curly Butter. It keeps the hair moisturized, give a nice shine and great definition.
See my pics here and here.

Thanks. I will look in Target. I'm not much of an Internet shopper yet.
