plain honey
i hear that honey does wonders for natural hair, but i always hear of ppl mixing it w/ other things from the kitchen or in w/ their conditioners.....what is the outcome when put straight on the hair as is, not mixed w/ anything??? i've used it before in one of my conditioners...... i hear some components in honey could possibly lighten the hair as well; any feedback??

Re: plain honey
Hi Strawberry,
I dilute honey with water and use just those 2 ingredients (though I can and do mix w/others sometimes as well) for the following: as a hair and face cleanser, as a leave-in condish and also as a toner and sometimes as a face primer and mask.
As a hair cleanser I like it, the PH is perfect for my scalp, for my face it is on par w/my oil cleansers (though I love them more), as a condish it leaves me with super soft cloudy clumps of hair, as a toner it makes my skin look amazing and as a primer it adheres well and as a mask pulls excess oil to the surface for me and moisturizes like hell.
I've heard abt lightening affects but thought it was only for blonds.

Re: plain honey
I love using honey on my hair. Right before washing I spritz just a lil bit of water on my hair then apply then honey and let it sit for about 20min..then continue w/ my cleansing routine. After I'm all done and my hair is styled and completely dry I am let with shiny and bouncy hair :-) I have also mixed honey, cinnamon, and conditioner together and let it sit on my hair with a cap for about couple hours and once I rinse out I am let w/ a nice glowing brown color. My hair is naturally a dark brown...so the cinnamon/honey enchances the color. I hope this help :-)

@ Heart to Heart. This may sound crazy but I'm going to ask anyway. Does the honey have a sticky effect and how much Honey & Water do U use?

Re: plain honey
@Silmwithabs No...because I spritz water on my hair first before applying the honey..so then it kinda just glides through :-)

I've also put honey in a mixture of conditioner, EVOO and my hair really likes it. I've also put a little bit in a spritz of aloe vera juice and other oils. If you get raw honey, it's not a sticky as the regular honey and mixes very well with other ingredients.
