Hey Everybody,

I did my BC in December and my hair is growing so that's nice. My problem is that I have no real regimen to help myself. I live in Colorado and it's very, very dry here. My stylist told me to use oil for my scalp and I bought one from sally's that's got olive oil and maybe 6 others in it. The problem? It gets EVRYWHERE! My head can't touch anything without leavin oil behind no matter how little I use.

When I wash my hair, I use Tresemme moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and I follow the advice from the book Curly Like Me to leave the conditioner in instead of washing it out.

I've seen people here talking about "sealing" the ends of the hair with oil. What precisely does that mean. How is everyone using oil without leaving it behind on their pillows, chairs etc.?

I could use any help on a regimen and especially keeping hair moisturized.
Thanks!

maybe try using one single oils.. i love coconut oil.and jojoba oil which is most like the oil that our scalp naturally produces. it doesnt leave my hair greasy .. and to seal your ends means to first moisturize then to lock in the moisture by coating the hair with oil..

Hey naturalnanz, your hair looks great btw!
So you're thinking that maybe having 7 oils in one product is too much?
When you seal the hair, do you just do the ends of the hair of the whole thing?
Thanks again Smile

i would start with one and work my up lol.. i think sometimes making things a little simpler is the best way to find what really works for your hair... when i seal i do it all over.. but i just put a very small amount on my hands and rub then work it through ..and maybe the quality could also play a roll in the greasiness ..idk i try to get really good oils from wholefoods.. but they can be very pricey ..i use sparingly bcuz my pockets are not that deep lol

I agree with naturalnanz. Try to find you one good oil and just rub it in ur hands and then through the hair. I use the afroveda shea amla butter and then take a little coconut oil and rub it over my hair. Remember the oil is only sealing whatever moisturizer you have already used. So you really don't need that much. I also agree that jojoba is good. It's very light and absorbs well. I use it in the summer. In the winter i do better with coconut of evoo.
Trial and error all day!! I've almost been natural for a year. It took me until November to really lock in a regimen, after trying every product and technique under the sun! Good luck!
