Re: Twist out question?
Sweet, lots of curlies wear twists on this forum. If you will provide details, such as if you twist on dry or wet hair, flat twist or 2 strand twists, the number of twists, how long you leave them in, what products you use (leave-in, styler), I believe people who wear twists will be able to provide some recommendations more effectively. I wear braidouts often and put my hair in a pineapple, tucking the ends and securing with bobby pins. I re-braid when my hair needs moisture.

Re: Twist out question?
I wear 2 strand twist and i have only done them on wet hair. My hair is so thick that i find it very hard to do anything with it when it is dry. ( scared to try, i have been told only to minipulate on wet hair i.e brush comb) As for how long i leave them in really depends on how they look, typically i can get about 2 maybe 3 days out of them before the frizz is unsitely. I have yet found a way to get my twists to stay tite for more that the day i put them in.
I typically do them in 1/2 -1 inch any bigger and all hope is lost for them to stay in even while doing them LOL.
As for what i use, I do them on washed wet hair
Leavin is what ever condish i am using at the time just left in from my wash.
then i will had some shea butter
and n my last attempt i used curls souflee as my styler for the last twist out.
I am still looking for the hair reg that is best for my hair so all is trial and error at this point. I get alot of conflicting info at just about every turn.

Re: Twist out question?
I retwist every night. I also spray my hair with some water and Jane Carter Solutions leave-in conditioner. Otherwise, the definition is gone in the morning. Then I have to start from scratch!

Re: Twist out question?
I retwist on Day 2 and then every night. It last until my next wash day.
As far as product goes, I find that if I want my twist to last long with little to no frizz, I have to use a product with hold. I usually use Koils By Nature eucalyptus gel or ecocustard (1/2 of eco styler olive oil gel, 1 tbsp of EVOO, 1 tbsp of avocado oil, and 1 tbsp of castor oil - recipe from Inspired Coils on Youtube).

Re: Twist out question?
I re-twist every night but only because it helps me to stretch my hair and make it look bigger and longer.
Re: Twist out question?
i use jason cosmetics aloe vera gel as part of my shealoe mix to twist (i use a condish as a leave-on). my twistout last about a week and that's without me having to separate the twists. hth

Re: Twist out question?
I used to twist every night but I've started falling in love with a less defined twist out. On Day 1 my hair falls flat but but day 2, 3, 4 it gets bigger and bigger but you can still see the definition which I LOVE! So now I throw on the scarf before bed then just fluff, style and go the next day!
Re: Twist out question?
I agree with marcysuburbs I use to re-twist every night but now Im starting to like how a undefined twist out looks (especially when i do my fro-hawks)..but normally when i wear twist out I re-twist every night..it doesn't take long because i do the twist a lot bigger

Re: Twist out question?
I do a 3 strand twist out, with the kinky curly custard and it lasts me for about a week. But I also keep my twists in for a week or more as well. But I just put a bonnet on at night and don't retwist unless I'm going to be wearing the twists again. I spray my hair with a mixture of water, tea tree oil, and coconut oil fluff then go on my merry little way.
