I purchased a jar and the stuff inside is a brownish color. To be honest im not sure what color its suppose to be. Going by the name of the product, I was expecting something "blue green" lol Evil or Very Mad
I ordered the mask from vitacost.com and it shipped from NJ to Cali. so I was thinking maybe it spoiled during transit, hopefully not. My fiancee told me to call the manufacturer to confirm the color before I use it or return it. I read reviews about the mask on LHCF and the AO website, yet no one mentioned the color so I have no clue. If anyone can answer my question, i'd truly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

tpayne22 is correct. It should look like the picture. I can understand why you would think it was spoiled. Aubrey containers are sealed and the mask does not have any added fragrance to cover the "seaweed" smell.

This is the brief review I gave the product last year:
When I need a heavy protein, I use the Blue Green Algae mask. It gave me waves at my roots and curls on my ends.

It is my favorite deep conditioner because of its protein content and how fast it works. I wish it came in a larger size.

LOL

I would like to read a review, too. I have never had a protein treatment but I love Aubrey Organics products, especially the cheap prices. Plus I just flat ironed my hair recently and it seems just a little heat damaged. Protein treatments are supposed to be good for heat damage, right?

@rayray, I'll most certainly do a review. Hopefully my hair will respond to it. Im looking to strengthen my hair and from the reviews I read on LHCF they ladies stated that it will do just that. Smile *crosses fingers*

@tpayne, the smell doesnt bother me at all... its not the best but it definitely aint the worst.

@FalconTress, yeah the fragrance and the color did throw me off, I was expecting a smell similar to the scents of my other AO products. Thanks for answering my question.

@Jazmine, ladies have commented on different forums suggesting to do deep conditioning treatments and protein treatments to help revert heat damage. I'll report back over the weekend.

Re: AO blue green algae hair rescue conditioning mask

Hi ladies, here's part 1 of my review. I can already say that this stuff needs to come in a bigger jar. I used the entire jar up on my 1st application. Someone please tell me how to stretch this stuff for atleast 2-3 treatments. For $15 <<< that includes s&h, I feel I didnt get my money's worth.

I divided my hair into 4 sections and applied the product to unwashed, dirty, sweaty, hair. I applied it from roots to ends, in a mushing motion to distribute the mask to my strands, then donned a plastic shopping bag from Sally's and went on to doing stuff around the house. Even though the instructions say to wait 15 minutes then rinse out, per the reviews I read on LHCF and the AO website, the ladies recommend leaving it on overnight, so I wont be rinsing till tomorrow morning.

I have a few pics to share of the process...

Dirty Hair[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Sectioned Hair[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Heat Damaged Ends (hope the mask will help the curl revert back just a tiny bit)[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Mask applied to Hair[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The End Result Sad[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'll report back tomorrow with my final review and pics Smile

After rinsing out the mask, I shampooed my hair with the Ayurvedic bar from NjoiCreations and my hair didnt feel stronger at all Rolling Eyes It was noticeably softer but I can get that same softness along with strength, conditioning and color all by doing a henna treatment, which is wayy cheaper and I can purchase the henna locally. In the end I will not be repurchasing this product.

Here are some pictures of my hair after rinsing out the mask...

Heat damage remains[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, heat damage is permanent, it has to eventually be trimmed or cut out. Sad
