Hello. My name is Mia and I bc'd on November 13, 2010. My first chop was done that morning and I don't think she was very familiar with afro textured hair. Needless to say it did not turn out very nice. I still had relaxed ends and it was boxed off. My husband took me to his barber and his barber gave me a Caesar cut. I liked it but my hair is frizzy and dry and under the frizz are pretty little ringlets. Should I get another trim with shears to bring out my curl pattern. Help Please!!!

Hey grateful07!
Welcome to the fun! No, you don't need another trim. You just need to soften and moisturize your hair, so that your curls will be more defined. Follow these instructions to wash and condition, and don't skip the pre-wash oil treatment.

The hardest part is finding the styler that will work for you. Check out CURLS Souffle or the Shea Moisture Smoothie (both at Target). I've also heard TWAs do well with Sebastian WET...there's a GVP version at Sally's. HTH You'll be fine!

My husband is a barber, and when he cut my hair with clippers, my ends were also frizzy and dry. I believe it has something to do with the blades, because I don't have that issue with a scissor cut. Next trim, have them cut with scissors, instead.
Good Luck

Oh wait, he gave you a Ceaser cut w/o using shears at all? Just clippers?

You're so welcome. I know it seems like there's a ton to figure out!
I understand what Sjoyreed said about the clipper blades. Rough ends are no fun. If you're worried about losing more length, there's no harm in letting it grow a month or two before getting a trim with shears.
