I have been waiting a mean minute for the finalization of the former CW's now BET "The Game" to start a new season and I cannot wait details below

The Game
The San Diego Sabres are returning to the field.

BET will have new episodes of The Game in the fall, the network announced Wednesday.

The CW canceled the series, a spin-off of the long-running comedy Girlfriends, last May after three seasons. However, reruns of The Game have garnered record ratings on BET since debuting on the cable channel in February 2009.

"I'm extremely happy to announce the absolute worst-kept secret in the world," said Loretha Jones, BET's president of original programming.

Original cast members Tia Mowry, Pooch Hall, Hosea Chanchez, Wendy Raquel Robinson and frequent guest star Rick Fox along with executive producer Salim Akil attended the BET announcement. Series regulars Brittany Daniel and Coby Bell were notably absent, but it's unclear if that is indicative of their future with the show.

Bell is set to join the cast of USA's Burn Notice when the series returns for its fourth season in June, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The Hollywood Reporter said earlier this month that most of the cast is expected to come back, with Akil taking over showrunner duties from wife Mara Brock Akil. She will continue to serve as an executive producer on the series as well as a Cougar Town consulting producer.

The Game is one of several series brought back from cancellation after finding success on other platforms. Family Guy famously returned to Fox in 2005 after finding new life on DVD and in syndication, and new episodes of Futurama will debut on Comedy Central later this year.

That is the same thing I was thinking I think the network can win them over if they press hard enough

I just heard that Jason is coming on board. Yay! Now if they can just bring back Girlfriends.....

I love The Game and I would only watch Girlfriends if they bring Toni back because the other three together are boring. Can't wait to see GirlMelanie and Derwin together. So entertaining and filled with drama. Love it!

I saw a commercial last night, "Toni" is getting her own show. Gillian in Georgia I think it's called. Planned on looking it up today to see what it's all about.

The show I miss is Half and Half, can't believe they left us hanging like that and not knowing who Mona chose, but I can't wait to see a new season of The Game, yay!

OMG...Yesssss!!!! When I saw the article that The Game was coming back I was sooooo happy! I absolutely loooove this show! I follow the whole cast on Twitter, and according to Tia Mowry a.k.a Melanie, or as Malik says it "Girl Melanie" LOL, the whole cast WILL be coming back! Yayyyyy! I cannot wait! That season finale of the last season left everybody hanging! So many unanswered questions....How is Melanie going to cope with Janay & the baby being in Derwin's life? How are Melanie & Derwin going to be as a married couple? Will Jason & Kelly get back together, or is Jason going to stay with Camille a.k.a Stacy Dash? Are Tasha Mack and Kelly going to be friends after Kelly straight jabbed Tasha in the face right before Melanie and Derwin's wedding because she admitted that she hooked Jason up with Camille????? Soooooo many unanswered questions!!!! LOL! That's why Im thrilled that this show is coming back!

I am SO excited for this. All the good shows get cancelled on me before and no one ever lets them be tied up to have an ending! Next they'll be cancelling True Blood *knocks on wood hard*

But at least someone saw The Game's potential!

We have to fight just a little too hard for good programming and it's a shame. Does anyone remember how Fox 5 cancelled all our good shows? Living Single, In Living Color, etc.? But how many seasons of Flavor of Love did we see? And how many variations of shows did New York have? It's almost like the media has no faith in good ethnic programming.

And natural83 I too want to see how Melanie handles the baby and I REALLY want to know if Kelly will ever forgive Tasha. But don't forget, Kelly pressed for the divorce first. Be careful what you ask for.....

I hope that "The Game" is a lesson learned for all of the stations. Black shows can make it - just give them to us.
