Super Dry Ends? Empty Super Dry Ends?

Post by ktodd2u 7th February 2011, 4:32 pm

I bc'ed about a month and a half ago, and since I've been natural my ends have been really dry. I keep adjusting my regimen, and I've gotten to the point where my ends are still dry and frizzy but if I part my hair, the hair on the inside is really shiny, soft, and defined. I deep treat, baggy, sleep in a satin bonnet, all to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this, and do you have a suggestion for livening up my ends?

Yes. In the beginning, I had bushy ends. My solution: seal the hair cuticles with cold water and applying a good leave in and oil combo, concentrating on the end.

Yeah that sounds good. Always make sure your hair is well moisturized and sealed with an oil like jojoba, evoo or a shea butter. What Nali said is good. Very Happy

On top of the great advice above, I will add smoothing (downward strokes only) the ends by running them through your finger (thumb on bottom and other fingers on top) several times (I do at least 10 or until the hair feels smooth) will encourage the hair to lie flat. I also find once I moisturize and smooth the ends, adding a roller or straw to the ends makes for a nice smooth curl without fail (as long as I don't need a trim). Emollient oils are true friends when battling rough ends!
