Grey hair around hair line
I have henned b4 & want to do it again but I have alot of grey hair around my hair line I HATE the copper color after the treatment
Do you have to use indigo in ur henna to keep hair black & will it really help with the grey hair
I was also thinking about doing another color like a cinnamon or paprika(in the henna) for a change in a section of my hair what are your suggestions

You can do a 2 step process with henna applied 1st then indigo applied 2nd right after you've rinsed out the henna to get jet black hair. To get more of a brownish color, you can mix henna and indigo together.
I personally preferred the henna & indigo 2 step process for jet black hair (although I no longer henna/indigo my hair), covered gray hairs better for me. In fact, covered them really good. Now with the henna and indigo mixed together to get a brown, did not cover my grey hairs as well as I would like. This was my experience, everyone's hair is different, so the henna and indigo mixed together may work just fine for you.
Mehandi dot com has great info regarding henna & indigo applied in 2 steps or mixed together. Has different ratios you can mix together....so that would be a great place to start in determining which you would like to try, 2 step process or mixed together and instructions too.
I've never mixed cinnamon, paprika, coffee, etc. in my henna mix.

I have to agree, the two step process gives me better "silver" coverage, as well. I'm curious as to what you are using to color your hair now, NaptownCurls?

I'll have to look in to that. Do you buy it locally?

Unfortunately no, you have to buy it on line at RobertCraig.com. There are threads on Naturallycurly.com about it. It has alot of great reviews so I decided to give it a try. It has no ammonia or peroxide. I must say I really like it, I've used it only once so far and it has covered grey hairs really well.

After the recommended time has passed, contact an old towel and gently rub the color on a small portion of the hair from root to tip. If gray hair is covered, it's time to wash, except, once again the region with the color of hair, and wait another 10 minutes.

Your best bet is to go professional hair salon and have it done. They have the best tools and colors, they use stronger than the one you can find a pharmacy. But if you, like me, do not want to spend so much money the work of color, any color will do in the drugstore brands. I used the high price of cheap goods, and did not see much difference.

My first time hearing about Robert Craig. Have to do some research. I will be going to get black henna one day this week. I currently using the regular henna but I'm tired of the red color around my edges. I will let you know how it comes out. Cross yr fingers.

Hi slim, the "black henna" is indigo. I thought I had discovered an actual black in color henna and the found out that at the Indian stores, they generally call their indigo, black henna. Make sure that when using indigo, you use henna too. using indigo by itself may result in a blueish color on your har.
