I'm doing my BC tomorrow morning...YYYEEEAAAA!!! Ok, celebration over:) I live in Alabama and it is becoming colder here. Like 50degrees is the norm for the morning and 65 at noon. How did you handle your TWA (or shaved head) in the colder temps? It's only been 12wks since my last perm so I'm guessing I have about an inch of ng.
TIA for your response.

Hey!

Congrats! I am sooooooo happy for you! I am from GA, so I know how the weather can be. Well, when my head was shaved, I just wore it as it. Just a simple wash n go. I didnt stress too much over the cold weather because, I knew that I really didnt have much hair to work with. If you are concerned about walking outside with wet hair, just try to get up a couple of hours earlier, and style it. Then, leave when it is about 70-100% dry. I also wore hats, that were lined..or wore my old wrapping scarf underneath it. I didnt want to hat to damage my hair. At night, even though I didnt have hair, I slept with my satin scarf or bonnet on. It worked! Your hair will grow before you know it. I didnt even bother with worry about my ends because my hair, were my ends!!!! Lol! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] You will definitely have more growth than me. I only had 8 wks worth of hair growth. You can also wear scarves, and acessorize your hats with your outfits so you can be stylish at the same time. Or you can just rock that TWA!

Hey, Jess. I am just full of questions right now!!!! Are you still doing the curly girl method? Is TIGI Bed Head an all natural product? I am interested in trying it. And do you recommend any products for a new natural? I am trying to stay in the natural product family.
Thanks again Smile

I dont have any questions right now but ditto what curly+kinky+fierce said. The videos for stretching your wash n go was so helpful. I would always spritz my hair with my lil mix but I would manipulate my hair and cause it to frizz. Now, I just spray and go. I didnt think it would work for me because our textures are different but it did. I just wanted to say thank you!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Hello,
I was showing my husband beautiful naturals on nikki's blog because I am transitioning and want him on board as support. Well he saw you and said "I have always imagined you in something like this." He also gave me the license to BC. Now the problem is I dont think my texture is like yours and I don't want to disappoint him. So I think I will wait until I get a ponytail puff and not do a TWA.

Anyway, you are beautiful and I cannot wait to see your hair when it grows out.

Awww! Thank you! I love to do this! I have always had a passion for hair care, relaxed or natural! Yes, the HE (Herbal Essence) conditioner has a cone it. So, I shampoo only once a month with a sulfate free shampoo. Thank you so much! You and your hair are gorgegous! I love your TWA!!!! Thank you for the support!

Wow! First, I would like to say congrats on your journey to natural hair! You will love it! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I did the same thing with my husband I showed him pictures of naturals and youtube videos, along with CurlyNikki and HoneyBrownSugar blogs. He was cool. He actually did the direct opposite, when I showed him the few TWA (Big Chop) videos on youtube. He freaked out when he saw the ladies cut all their off. I had no idea how my hair was gonna turn out. I assured him, i was just hair and it is gonna grow. He got over it. I wanted to transition for 2 years, but I am impatient and my hair broke off at the line of demarcation (where the relaxed hair meets the natural hair). I went ahead and did the bc and he helped me too! I havent looked back.

I am glad you showed him beautiful natural women! Kudos to you! I wouldnt worry about your texture. It is going to be beautiful regardless what texture it is. Trust me! It really will. You will love and so will he. All women look beautiful with TWAs...dont worry about the hair texture. It is a matter of how you take care of. You also have to confidence, and pride. Show the world that you are beautiful with long or short hair! If you still want to transition that is fine too! Just take really good care of your hair. But if you are read to do the BC, I am here. Thank you for your support and good luck. If you need to talk let me know! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

You will not disappoint him. I am sure he love so much, and he is gonna love you more when he see your hair!

Here is one of my favorite TWA youtubers...We do not have the same hair type, but she is stunning!

Hey!

Yes, I still use the Bed head, I just ran out! Lol!!! I am still following the CG method too, it is just a modified CG method, bc the Herbal Essence Hello Hydration does have one cone in it. I also shampoo once a month with a sulfate free shampoo.

When I did the bc the only products that I used were:
(I still use them too! He he !)

Suave Naturals Conditioner
V05 Conditioner
TIGI Bed HEad Moisture Maniac Conditioner
Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Conditioner
Herbal Essence Totally Twisted Conditioner
Herbal Essence Set Me Up Gel
Isoplus Gel

That is it...oh yeah, sulfate free shampoo of your choice.

I DC'd with Suave naturals and added honey and olive oil seperately to the mix once a week and sat under my hooded dryer for 30 min. As you can see I use a lot of conditioner! Lol!

Bedhead isnt all natural though...

I really havent tried all the natural products yet, mostly bc I am in Germany right now, so I will wait until I get back stateside. HTH!

Congrats! I used conditioner as my leave in...regular conditioner and my curls used to POP! You can also use gel if you dont mind your hair being a little crunchy...I like Herbal essences Set me up or Isoplus gel (yellow)..or just conditioner alone. I hear good things about ECO styler gel and IC fantasia, havent tried it yet!

Remember always apply product to wet hair, you get the best results that way, and do not touch it while drying!

TIP: If your hair feel a little hard after it dries, quickly run your hands over it front to back no more than twice, it will soften the curls and wont disturb them! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Intelbeauty; girrrl dnt worry about the different textures, thats the beauty of natural hair. my girlfriend is on the fence of going natural cuz she doesnt want to look "nappy"...what is lookin nappy, lol?? when i had the even steven cut i pictured my hair with solange curls..well umm, i got solange curls on the side and kizzy fist curls on top! my son's dad isnt feelin my low twa but i dnt see him running to his wallet to get my hair done so [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] to him!

so mahog; i've heard of the IC gels too so im gonna try out the olive oil one w/aloe vera. i've noticed my curls pop more when i put the aloe on right after my co-wash vs rummaging oils n moisturizer first! i do hate the crunchy feel becuz it reminds of that infamous black gel of doom from the 90's but im gonna attempt to let the gel dry first and soften my curls with oil/moisturizer on my hands after!

now tryin not to touch as they dry...errrr...umm, ok i can try! im just so in love with my hair now i cant help it. im in the puppy love stage [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Thank you so much for your encouragement and Ms. Kisha's words of comfort. I feel like maybe I can do this. So now I am not dead set on transitioning another 8 months. But I am still on the fence. We will see.
