Etsy vs. Big Cartel

Last year I interned at a company that published specialty magazines for entrepreneurs and it really inspired me to what to start on own online store. Rather than just open up shop and hope for the best I've been doing research and saving money. Now I feel that I'm ready to start making this reality.

For you business owners are there any sites that handle the order taking process that you prefer such as Etsy or BigCartel.com. All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks. For now I'm planning to sell handmade hair accessories and crocheted goodies. Msotly made from upcycled fabric and vintage notions. The articles are very helpful.
