Vet moms: baby's hair what to do?
So I am due in 19 days with my first daughter. How do I care for her hair? With my son I used Baby oil and other Jonson and johnson products. I will not do that with her. Any ideas?

I didn't know what I was doing with my daughter's hair when she was a baby so I used Johnson and Johnson as well, then I started using Soft N Beautiful Just for Me Shampoo, detangler and lotion when she was closer to 1.
With my son, I bought the Curls "It's a Curl" baby shampoo. Didn't use it much because I passed it on to my SIL whose daughter had sensitive skin (plus my son didn't really have any curls so I didn't buy more, instead I used Burts Bees.) I purchased it because I use the Curly Q line for my daughter and absolutely love it. I really liked the shampoo though and will buy it for future children. There is also a conditioner, moisturizer and leave-in in the baby line.
Congratulations!!!

Congratulations!!! For my son, I used herbal essence (hello hydration) conditioner I dont use any shampoo I used to use Aveeno babywash for his entire body and it dried out his hair. But try something all natural/organic like "it a curl" bee mine or mixed chicks products, but baby oil and johnson & johnson can dry out the baby the skin and hair, so just keep searching until you find something.

Congrats! Remember, the hair is an extension of the skin. Whatever you use to give the baby a bath, use for the scalp. The important thing is to keep it clean so she will not develop craddle cap. Using the baby brush (gently, of course) does wonders. I never had this issue, but I have seen many babies with it. There are a zillion natural and organic baby products, if you choose to go this route.

I use this head to toe on my baby (now two). It has no parabens, sulfates, petroleum, artificial fragrance (it does smell good though) or dye. And it's tearfree. I like the leave in conditioner too. Congrats!!

I use Burt Bee's baby line for my daughter. She had such sensitive skin and it was the only product that didnt bother her. Now Im experimenting with different conditioners like HH and Trader Joes Spa. My daugther's hair does like coconut oil.
Im thinking trying out the kids products of my favorite lines to see what works but we have different textures.
Good Luck and congrats on your baby.

I use dr bronners unscented castile soap head to toe on my baby boy. I put kinky curly knot today as a moisturizer and seal with an oil. I use to use jojoba oil but it left his hair a little crunchy so I switched to evoo.
