I still to this day shudder when I hear that word and I just heard it about 3 weeks ago, I swear it was all I could do to keep my peace and let it ride....

And of course because I had the time today, I wasn't home for family hair day... we will try this again tomorrow.... my anticipated busiest day of the week

I just had a whole lota firsts today! I did my first co-wash w/ AO HR and it ws loverly! Yes, I meant loverly lol!
LilMsPuddles - Page 2 Image710
This looks a lot better than the last time I washed and it was so moist except for in the top. I can never figure out how to get that area moist and defined....

So to alleviate that problem I finger combed with KCKT
LilMsPuddles - Page 2 Image711
A lil bit o finger combing

Then I finished it off with some twists w/ my shea mix
LilMsPuddles - Page 2 Image811
And my hands got hennaed again lol but they feel soooooooooo soft and supple!

Butters n bars is the best! I mixed up my shea butter and put it in my hair and I'll admit I was very scared about how it was going to turn out because it was heavy on my hair, stretching out my curls, there was no shine and and parts of my hair were yellow and oozing when I got done. No worries anymore! My hair is so soft, smooth shiny and moisturized. I love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!! dance

I have definitely found my regimen. Very Happy
PS I'm still rocking my 10 twists till I find a new style...

I guess my journey to natural-natural isn't all that inspiring to my mother. She is unintentionally going natural and when I told her about co washing she looked at me like I had lost my mind and told me why she had to shampoo....Oh well maybe one day when all the relaxed part breaks off we can make progress!

It's been going on todays since I washed and 2st.tw. my hair and I still don't know what I'm going to do with it, but I'm tired of these twists.

Any why does my hair still smell like henna??? Every so often I get a whiff, and I was definitely shocked when my palms turned orange again. I don't remember this from the last time I hennaed but whatever, live and learn.

I'm also starting to think that I may have to start washing my sons hair every four days....co washing of course, I just can't get it to not be dry for more than about three or so days even moisturizing it once or twice a day.

Happy Sunday!

I enjoyed reading your hair stories...its interesting how everyone has different experiences to pull from, but they all lead us to the same place Smile I'm also interested in developing an all natural & organic hair routine one day, but right now i'm still just trying to figure out what it means/looks like for my hair to actually be moisturized. when you use AOHR to "set," do you mean setting it in twists?

I never actually thought about that. I just slap some on my head after that i all just depends on how I feel. I might put a plastic cap on it, wear it out or put it in a high bun. I will admit though I am trying to tweak it though because unlike when it's on wet hair it just sits there.

Hey hey now! I am rocking the fierce high ponytail twist out! Couldn't nobody tell me nothin today! Laughing
I haven't worn my hair like this since the 11th grade but it's more fun now because I get less frizz and more shine & definition. I think I might be on to something.... What a Face

Well I'm still rocking the twist out and it's ok. I'm sure it would have been better if yesterday my BF and my son hadn't found my hair so irresistible I'm sure it would be a little less frizzy but it's definitely not as bad as the ones from HS!

OMG I have good looking third day hair! If this was HS I'd still be wash and going every morning or every night and then slathering on heaps of Hawaiian silky. Yea I said it, the 14 in 1 activator, it was my HG then but I wouldn't touch it now. I will say though that I wish my ends were a wee bit less dry...

Tito's hair looks awesome too! I co-washed him again yesterday but this time I put on some KCKT followed by my whipped shea mix and then coconut oil. His hair is softer and more moist than the last time. Two thumbs up!

For me it's always been natural. But....during times of slowed growth(sickness, stress ect.) I 2 strand twist almost every time I wash my hair and DC every time I wash my hair. I'm a total conditioner head, I put conditioner in my hair before I wash my hair, condition after I shampoo and then follow with a leave-in.
Honestly as much as everyone say heat is awful it's also been key because as long as I was wearing my hair flat ironed I was wrapping it with a scarf and putting olive oil on it so it was never exposed to anything that would disrupt the cuticle and/or fray the ends.

HTH!
