Re: HumanNature - NEWBIE
Thank you LilMsPuddles and Blackbeauty. I really love the results, much better than the first go round. Trial and Error
I have to say the pineapple really worked. I gathered all of my hair to the top of my head as close to my forehead as possible. I secured my hair loosley with a scrunchie and let the curls fall naturally and wraped my hair.
My curls on the third day are still going strong. I put my hair up because the top was a bit frizzy. Take a look.

@AfrikanLatina- thanks, by nature I'm an oily being (good for my hair, not so much for my skin- LOL).
@ChrsLvsBks- I was really happy about all day curls (it's a shame that I never tried this before).
@coceuro- thanks, my main staple updo is a bun, this was different, me likes.
I must confess that before this web site I did not pay much attention to the ingredients that were in the products I used. I know there are certain no no's that you should not touch but for the most part, if it worked for my hair I used it.
The product I use is Wet-n-Wavy Leave-In Conditioner. I'll just name the first three ingredients in the product: Deioniezed water, propylene glycol, PEG 75 lanolin. So I looked up the ingredients and I'm wondering how my hair has ever survived because I have never gave much thought to what went into these products .
Well I'm going to stop this torture and invest my time in researching products that are natural and hair friendly.

Did you set the ends with rollers? I like the spiral curls at the end.
LOL re: blocking screen at theater. You see a good movie?

Re: HumanNature - NEWBIE
@ChrsLvsBks, yes I used the blue perm rods. (side bar) I saw Precious, it is such a powerful movie. I talked about all night after seeing it.
@Kea::curls, thanks. I've been using it for years. I don't have problems with breakage or dry hair but I know the ingredients can pose a problem. I love that my hair is soft when I use it.
Today is hair wash day. I was thinking about co-washing but I have never only used conditioner and it has been awhile since I shampooed. Co washing is a new concept for me. We'll see. I'm going to experiment.

Re: HumanNature - NEWBIE
Ha Ha. I ended up washing my hair today. I used something new for me. Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Lather Shampoo and Daily Deep Conditioner (it feels really rich and creamy). I am going to use the Silk Touch Leave-In Cream for styling. All three products contain olive, meadowfoam seed, and sweet almond. The shampoo and conditioner were ok but nothing to make a big deal about. I normally use Pantene and I like that much better. I don't think I'll be revisiting it after it is all gone .
I like Neutrogena products and I had been eyeing it for some time but it is quit expensive. I got all three products on sale at CVS (one was actually free with a coupon I had).
I washed my hair and conditioned it in the shower. I use a wide tooth comb in the shower to comb out my hair and then do a cold rinse (BRRRR). I comb all of my hair back and twist it around itself to get rid of the excess water and then I use a hair clip to hold it in place and it stays this way until it dries or until it is at least 80-90% dry (I've done this routine for years and it works for me). When it's about 80-90% dry I'll style it.

when I styled my hair this morning it was very soft. I was somewhat surprised because I did not like how my hair felt when I was washing it. I may continue to use the Neutrogena Leave-In conditioner. It leaves a very nice fragrance to the hair.

@lena73- Thanks, I love me some MJ. He was playing on my ipod when I signed up for this site.
@LilMsPuddles- HAIR ENVY, Ha Ha. WE rock, WE have such versatility!
@Kea::curls- Thanks chica.
Busy week for myself so I put 12 twist in my hair last night and the plan is to wear them this week. I have gathered up my accessories because I know by Wednesday I'm going to need a hat, scarf or something. But at least I don't have to worry about my hair.

Re: HumanNature - NEWBIE
Since my goal is to maintain curls (esp. for wash -n- go styles) I have been reading up on how to do this organically. I read that ACV + honey rinse is good for shine and maintaining curls. I'm just confused??? Not sure if I should leave the rinse in, mix it with a store bought conditioner, or just mix it with H2O. Maybe all three are ok. Any suggestions
