I'm currently reading "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Zane. The books that others are reading sound so interesting and insightful! I may check out some of those titles too to expand my reading selections.

Just finished "The Color of Water" from James McBride.
It's a wonderful book which I can only recommend, no matter what kind of books you usually read. Ricght now I started "Go ask Alice" which is usually not the kind of book I read because it's lika a diary and not a flowing text but I heard that it'S very good so yeah...

I'm reading "What the Dog Saw" by Malcolm Gladwell. His essays are beautifully crafted. I have to write personal statements for grad school, so I thought it would be a good idea to read good writing to help me prepare.

I am currently reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Warning: this book will make you very emotional. I have laughed, cried, and been so mad that I want to throw something by reading this book. It is extremely well written and a fast read albeit 450 pages long. It is a page turner. Very Happy

I want to read it but I know I will get angry. However, I am glad someone wrote a book about it.

@Naturally Esq, yes it will make you very angry but as I read this book I realize that it is the best book that I have read in a long time. Any book that can make you feel exactly what the characters are going through is exceptional. I highly recommend it although you will have a few moments where you probably would like to smack someone randomly. Razz

I am sure that you are right. I remember the stories that my older relatives, who have now passed on, used to tell about this.

I just finished reading:

- Tempted by Trouble by EJ Dickey. Love his writing style. He keeps it fresh and interesting, as usual

- In My Father's House by E. Lynn Harris. Could have left this. When I read books by better writers, I realize how horrible his character development actually is

- Getting to Happy by Terry McMillian. Not the greatest book, but I could definitely related to Savannah

I just downloaded The Help, Dead until Dark, Mini Shopaholic, Shanghai Girls and The Girl Who Played with Fire to my Nook. Looking forward to reading and relaxing today!

32 Candles by Ernessa Carter was a really cute story. If you're looking for an entertaining and light read, pick this one up!
