SIKE! Wink

No, but in all honesty I think I've reached Stage 1 Boredom with Asilia.
She's at the awkward length where, she's a far cry from BC day back in February but she's still not long enough to do a whole lot.

I was at the store a few weeks ago, when another curly stopped me & asked what I used in my hair. After divulging all my product information lol, she commented that my hair looked long enough to start twisting. I told her I was unsure about it, but that I'd try it.
However-- I got home and looked in the mirror at all the thick corkscrews residing in my head and was completely overwhelmed at the thought of detangling, parting, sectioning and twisting what's already so tightly wound. pale

Don't get me wrong, though. I love my corkscrews. When I BC'd I didn't know what I was gonna get and was beyond excited when they showed up.

It's just....

I don't know how to handle them! Neutral

I don't think I'll ever go back to perming, but I have to say...the frustration is slowly mounting!

I'm cracking up over here!!! Cute title!! Very Happy

Hi Sasha...

Welcome to CS! Twisting might be a great technique for you to try. So you say you have corkscrews curls? Well...that sounds like you would have such an awesome twist out!! Look around the neighborhood and check out a few threads...Sweetdrk1 has tight curls and she has the best washNgo's as well as twist outs as well as Lynn. (Lynn has some awesome twist styles)

Browse around visit as few of the neighbors you will be pleasantly surprised.

You do hit dryness and boredom around the 4th - 6th month. It normal...just don't perm your hair!!! lol!

hey sasha, I have tight cork screws too, so tight that even after 5 months it still looks like I have a TWA, but when I pull the curls they are actually long. What I have learnd to do is coil my hair and wear coil outs, that streatches my hair lot. This is a learning process for all of us so dont give up. You might have to commit to a hair day and start experimenting, you look like you are hiding in your avi LOL.

Like KNH mentioned look around on curl street, or even check out the TWA challenge. There are alot of styles over there. We are in this together!

Hi Sasha

Welcome to CS. Don't get discouraged just take out some time to find our how your hair will react to certain styles. If you to the point where you can't do any thing with your hair try getting some braids. BTW you are the closest person to me I've seen.

Good Luck And so, I return to the infamous perm... Icon_cheers

Lol at Cyclingchick and fire cream!

SashaB I call my curls Sasha because they are fiercely tight! Lol my shrinkage is like 90% or something ridic like that. Get those coils nice and moist and put some twists or coils in them. Don't let boredom take over. My hair journey check it out, this may help

Thank you, ladies!

I actually already have a CSJ, but I think when I posted this I clicked 'post new topic' instead of clicking 'post reply'. OOPS! Rolling Eyes

KNH: Yes, there is one spot in the 'crown' of my head that's rougher and seemingly dryer than the rest of my hair. I've just been trying to work with it-strangely enough, it doesn't seem to shed as much as the other parts of my hair...go figure. Oh, and I promise I'll never return to the "fire cream" lol

CrissyQ: OMG, YES! I'm at 6 months (almost 7) and I still look like I'm working with a TWA. I'll have to check out this Coil Out business...

CyclingChick: LMAO Razz Halt the intervention...or at least have them on standby* lol

Keania: You're right. I need to woman up and just experiment!

Sweetdrk1: Lol, you named your culrs Sasha?! That's the single most brilliant thing I've heard all day* (applause) lol I'd say my shrinkage is about 80-85%. I'll definitely try some twists and post some pics up when I think they've turned out somewhat decent.

Thanks again, Ladies*

i can totally relate to u feelin bored in the twa phase. ive always hated the "in between" stages when growing out hair from short styles. so if ur bored nows the time to start playing around n experimenting with different styles! the whole process of detanglin n etc is kinda intimidating but go for it.

when i was in a rut around my 5th month i was home bored n playin around n stumbled upon discovering i actually had length long enuff for 2 strands n ive been doin em every since. im still workin on perfecting the back but whenever im bored i just play around. i just recently revisited coils since my hair is longer and it was fun.

Yea, I need to experiment--something I didn't do very much, even when I had relaxed hair. I think CrissyQ was right in recommending that I dedicate one day to trying new stuff with my hair.

Who knows? Maybe I'll get the hang of both the coil out thing and end up loving it...??

Hey Sasha Welcome to Curl Street!.

If your bc was in February you definitely have enough hair to do twists or braids Smile I started plaiting my hair three months after my bc. Definitely check out youtube for different twa styles.

What are coil outs? Sorry I am a newbie! I haven't had my hair cut or trimmed yet (25 days post BC) but my hair still looks the same length but fuller since it coils up so much. Not sure how much I will let grow out for now.
